La traviata is Verdi at full brilliance, weaving a tale that shimmers with glamour, passion, and heartbreak. At its heart is Violetta, a woman adored by society yet living a life defined by fragility and compromise. When the earnest and hopeful Alfredo enters her world, she dares to imagine a future shaped by love rather than expectation. Their romance is intoxicating, but the world they inhabit is quick to judge, and their happiness comes under threat from the very forces they long to escape.This new production brings together a world class creative team and exceptional cast to tell the story with freshness, colour, and emotional depth. PLEASE NOTE CHANGE OF TIME TO 4.30PM! Our concert on Sunday 19 July starts at 4.30pm – doors 4.00pm. Following England’s performance in Mexico, the Greg Abate/Belper Jazz Company gig takes place on the afternoon of Sunday July 19th. We realised many of you could end up having to choose between world-class live jazz and world cup football so we’ve brought the performance forward by three hours. This means +you can enjoy an unforgettable afternoon with one of America’s finest saxophonists and still be home (or in your favourite pub!) in plenty of time for kick-off. If you joined us last year, you’ll know just how special Greg’s performance was. His energy, virtuosity and warmth lit up No.28, and we’re absolutely delighted to welcome him back. For those who haven’t yet experienced Greg live, you’re in for a treat. A graduate of Berklee College of Music, Greg has performed with the legendary Ray Charles Orchestra, toured internationally for decades, recorded more than 20 albums as a leader and was inducted into the Rhode Island Music Hall of Fame in 2016. His playing is steeped in the bebop tradition of Charlie Parker and Phil Woods, combining breathtaking technique with infectious swing and a genuine joy in communicating with audiences. Even better, Greg arrives in Belper with advance copies of his brand new album, In the Moment , due to be released in September – more great music from one of the hardest working musicians on today’s jazz scene.

Music is Power – IMC Music Band Service, Shows, Carols, Festivals, Music plays a central role in Ilkeston Methodist Church’s worship and community life. Whether you love singing, playing an instrument, or simply enjoying uplifting melodies, our IMC Music offers something for everyone. Join us as we celebrate faith through music and create a welcoming environment for all. Welcome bands who play chart music or other taste, but will need to play Christian Music and hyms Join our band New members would be most welcome. Feel free to speak to us or pop in during rehearsals. As long you can play on Sunday, we open to you plying non Christian, Christian music at other events. We are also looking for a youth band, and directors who can teach and lead the music.
