Life Drawing

Life Drawing Last Wednesday of the month from 6pm - 8pm Next session: 29th July Whether you're completely new to life drawing or looking to develop your observational skills, our monthly Life Drawing sessions offer a welcoming, relaxed environment to learn, experiment, and create. Led by artist Rebecca Scott, who has over ten years' experience teaching art, each session is designed to help you build confidence while enjoying the challenge of drawing from a professional life model. Class sizes are intentionally kept small to ensure everyone has space to work comfortably and receive individual guidance when needed. Host: Adrienne McKenzie In this workshop you will make a ceramic hare out of clay. You will learn the skill of making pinch pots, clay sculpting, scoring and slipping. Using tools to create texture. You will paint with under glaze and your hare will be fired and clear glazed. Your hare will be ready for you to collect in 3 weeks following the workshop date. Children's beginners crochet (right-handed) Hosts: Shirley Mawhinney & Val Riddiough Time: 6pm - 8pm Price: £8 This workshop is for right- handed children who are aged 8+.  Crochet requires a level of dexterity in their fingers that usually hasn't formed before age 8. We want children to have the best experience and not be put off learning this skill. In this workshop children will learn basic crochet stitches including chain stitch, slip stitch, double crochet, half treble and treble crochet.  They will be encouraged to combine these stitches to make a basic shapes such as squares, circles, flowers, love hearts. Children will be guided on choosing yarns and colours and shown some examples of things that they can go on to make using their shapes e.g. flowers, hanging decorations, blankets, toys. All materials are provided, however if your child already has crochet hooks and yarn please feel free to bring them along.
