Thursday 11th June at Banquet Records,

Admission will be via order number, please bring yours to the shop.To celebrate the release of the new album, Liz Lawrence visits Kingston to play an in-store set, please note: this is a performance set only, there will be no signing / meet and greet afterwards. There will also be special, event exclusive lyric booklets given away to attendees.Vespers, the new record by Liz Lawrence, is an album about tragedy. It is the record of a life and death, an act of devotion and reflection. Liz wrote the songs in the ashes of disaster: "It is dedicated to my beautiful sister Jessie and her too-short life.” Jessie was 35 when she died. Vespers was written over a period of three weeks, its songs coming in a short burst, all at once, six months after Jessie died. Its music exists at the borders of the before and the after. "If you want to understand the change in me, from the person who made Peanuts to the person who wrote Vespers, then this is it. Grief changes you. I don't recognise the person I was before."The demos for these songs were written simply and plainly, often first recorded only as a vocal, and later fleshed out on the old nylon-stringed guitar that Liz has had since she was 10 years old. Liz recorded and produced the finished version of Vespers herself, in the late summer of 2025, at Vada Studios in Worcestershire, close to her home and to her family. The studios are in a deconsecrated church, built on top of an old convent and burial ground.

Sunday 21st June at Banquet Records,

Admission will be via order number, please bring yours to the shop.To celebrate the release of the new album, Swim Deep visits Kingston to play an in-store set."Birmingham hailing quintet Swim Deep announces their fifth studio album ‘Hum’, due June 19th via Submarine Cat Records. They also share first single ‘Pieces Of You’ — a defiant cut of alternative rock: roaring with clouds of distortion that bring a bite and rawness to its chiming melodies. Fresh and inspired from a sold-out tour across Thailand and China in December, and with an unexpected line-up change: ‘Hum’ is the work of a group rejuvenated, driven by their innate passion for music – even when the going gets tough – and sounding more confident than ever, whilst juggling the challenges of maintaining a grassroots indie band on their fifth album. Speaking on the track, lead singer Austin “Ozzy” Williams adds: “I had found a new writing partner at the full-time bar job: there stood J.J. Buchanan by the barrels of beer kegs we were hauling. A sharp songwriter and a soaring guitarist, who brought something fresh to this song and the whole sonic landscape that would shape ‘Hum’. Thematically, ‘Hum’ continues the life journey of ‘There’s A Big Star Outside’, which captured a transformational period for Williams – preparing for the arrival of his first child, but also the departure of his wife’s father.
