In under a decade, the masked collective, born in the Portuguese town of Porto, has navigated countless darkened shades of metal to arrive at their fifth album and Century Media debut, Loss. Loss is the sound of GAEREA continuing to define and redefine itself, incorporating elements of the band’s post-black metal past with the sharpened sonics and haunting melodies that coalesced spectacularly with 2024’s album, Coma. Loss finds GAEREA emerging from creative chrysalis and bursting into something as engaging as it is unexpected. Os Garotin are a Brazilian trio formed by Léo Guima, Anchietx, and Cupertino. Their sound blends influences from MPB, soul, R&B, and pop, delivered with a contemporary approach and a distinctive identity that has set them apart within the new generation of Brazilian music. Their debut album, Os Garotin de São Gonçalo, earned them the Latin Grammy for Best Portuguese Language Contemporary Pop Album, as well as being nominated for Best New Artist, confirming the project’s immediate international impact. Tracks like “Calor do Momento” and “Zero a Cem” went viral, expanding the band’s reach to new audiences and consolidating their growing recognition. Following the release, Os Garotin are set to perform at some of Brazil’s major festivals including Rock in Rio Brazil, building a reputation as one of the most exciting new bands to watch live.
