Make your own Bookmark with Loui Mitchell 2nd Friday of the month Come and join Loui for a session of beginner friendly crochet, where they will guide you through making your very own bookmark. Suitable for complete beginners, learn everything from how to hold a hook and trying some simple stitches to get started on your crochet journey. Advanced beginners can also learn some new stitches and techniques by making a bookworm or sprout bookmark. DK weight yarn and 3-4mm hooks will be provided, along with all other necessities, but feel free to bring along your own hook and yarn. 2 hour session with a small group to allow you plenty of time to learn with no pressure! Loui also runs The Cosy Crochet Club on the last Friday of each month £15, ages 12+ Limited to 5 places

Dr Helen Wall, author of Menopause and ADHD talking on Monday, 7th September at 6.30pm In collaboration with the wonderful, Suffolk based Umbrella Hub Menopause and ADHD is your ultimate guide to understanding how your hormones may influence your ADHD – and it’s a two-way street: how your ADHD impacts how your perimenopause lands for you. This book will arm you with the facts, and help you to confidently advocate for your own health and wellbeing. Navigating menopause can be challenging for any woman, but for those with ADHD, the experience can feel like a bomb has gone off in your life. Ticket includes the book Health issues in all women are too often dismissed, misunderstood, or minimised by clinicians who label symptoms as anxiety or ‘just part of being a woman’. We are just starting to empower women to access the menopause support they deserve, but women with ADHD or other intersecting neurodivergence (often undiagnosed) are still woefully left behind in this arena. Helen Wall is a GP with years of experience advocating for women. MENOPAUSE AND ADHD will debunk myths, tackle systemic biases, and empower you to take charge of your well-being through this period of hormonal challenge. If interested in 24th Sept or 26th Nov please specify the date in the notes of this booking Come and spend two hours with the fabulous Holly who will guide you through carving and printing Soft Cut Lino upstairs at Red Lion Books. Holly will bring a couple of design inspirations, but of course feel free to bring your own idea. Due to the time frame, keep it simple. We want to ensure you have time to carve AND print, You will begin by popping your design onto Lino, and spending time carving before you get to print the design on greeting cards! There will be two colour options for printing (to be confirmed on the day). You will keep the Soft Cut Lino and all the cards you print! Holly has lead many sessions previously, and is excited to share this wonderful rewarding craft with you! All materials supplied. Suitable for beginners.

The Comeback is a funny, big-hearted story of second chances. Sometimes life surprises you with an encore... Twenty years ago, aspiring performer Gill Piper boarded a bus out of Leatherhead with a spring in her step and stars in her eyes. Things didn't quite pan out... Back home again, Gill finds much has changed. Young Lights, the youth theatre group which coaxed her out of her shell, is no more. The theatre itself, once the heartbeat of the community, now feels like a has-been; Gill can relate. When Gill learns the theatre is approaching its hundredth year, she decides to put on a spectacular anniversary show to give it a comeback and unite the town. She has just eight weeks, but if she can persuade some shy newcomers to step into the spotlight, it might just be possible.
