Lyme Regis Town Band Summer on the Seafront Concerts

During the summer months of July and August Lyme Regis Town Band play a series of free evening concerts on the seafront which commence at 7:45pm until 9pm. The band perform not only traditional brass band classics but a selection of pop tunes, film soundtracks and music to make you smile. The popular seafront concerts are very much weather permitting but the band do their best to play if it's at all possible as both players and audience can squeeze into the shelters. Spectators are encouraged to join in the fun with shakers, maracas and bells available.

Summer Mini Milling Sessions

Ever wondered how flour is made? This summer book your own family mini milling session on the top floor of the mill and experience it for yourself! During your 30 minute session, you’ll work together using mini hand mills to mill your very own bag of fresh wholemeal flour to take home, ready to use with your chosen recipe. There’s nothing quite like baking with flour you have milled yourself. Sessions will run at 11am, 11:45am, 12:30pm, 1:15pm and 2pm every Tuesday and Thursday throughout the school summer holidays. Spaces are limited so book early to secure your preferred date and time. Mini Milling sessions are suitable for children age 4+ and they must be accompanied by an adult at all times. The experience costs £15 per group and includes a 30 minute mini milling session, a 500g bag of wholemeal flour and a recipe card to take away. Maximum group size of 5.

Lyme Folk Weekend

A three day festival of free live folk music, shanty singing, storytelling and ceilidh dancing along the seafront. The Marine Theatre will also play host to a number of the UK's finest folk musicians. On Friday Turin Brakes will be performing a stripped back acoustic show, on Saturday night Ninebarrow & Friends will be joined by talented musicians Will McNicol and Jack Rutter and on Sunday Australian phenomenon The Spooky Men's Chorale take the stage, known for their incredible vocal harmonies and witty lyrics.

Lyme Splash Lyme Regis to Charmouth Challenge Sea Swim

Now run by the RNLI, the Lyme Regis to Charmouth Challenge Sea Swim is a sponsored open water sea swim between Lyme Regis and Charmouth. Starting at the sandy beach in Lyme, swimmers will swim nearly two miles (3.15k) along the Jurassic Coastline and finish in Charmouth, where a medal, hot chocolate, biscuits, water and survival blankets await. Places are strictly limited to 300 swimmers only and the event is open to anyone over the age of 14. Participants should be intermediate or experienced open water swimmers and no swimmer will be allowed in the water without a wetsuit on. Registration costs £40.00 plus fees per swimmer and entrants must raise a minimum of £100 through sponsorship. Lyme Regis Repair Café

Got a broken toaster? A wobbly chair? A favourite sweater with a tear? Bring them along to the Lyme Regis Repair Café and their team of skilled volunteers will do their best to help you repair, restore, and reuse your items, saving you money. The Repair Café takes place on the third Saturday of every month from 10am until 1pm at the Boat Building Academy. The team will aim to repair bicycles, small electrical appliances, lamps, wooden objects and small furniture, laptops, textiles, toys and jewellery as well as mending clothing and sharpening garden tools. Repairs are free of charge, but a donation is welcome. If you have nothing to fix, come along anyway to enjoy a cuppa , meet the team and share your ideas on how to grow this community initiative. The Lyme Regis Repair Café is part of an international network aiming to reduce waste through community-driven repairs. It supports, educates and empowers individuals to fix their broken items, fostering a culture of sustainability and resourcefulness.

Pick a fossil from a selection, then sand it working from coarser grained sandpaper to finer grains. Lastly polish it up until it's smooth and shiny. Lyme Regis Fireworks Display

Watch the fireworks as they light up the sky over the harbour. The Cobb provides a fantastic backdrop for the stunning display with Lister and Langmoor gardens offering a wonderful vantage point to view the explosive night of fireworks. The firework display is organised by the Lyme Regis Regatta & Carnival team and is free to attend with cash donations encouraged via official collectors on the night. Remembrance Sunday Parade and Service

The Remembrance Day Parade is led by the Mayor of Lyme Regis, the civic party and members of the Royal British Legion. Participants are requested to assemble at the Pound Street entrance to Langmoor Gardens at 9am and at 9.30am the procession will proceed down Broad Street, along Bridge Street and Church Street to St Michael's Church for a special service which starts at 10am. The procession will then gather at the clock tower at 10.50am ready for a poignant two minute silence at 11am. The public are warmly encouraged to line the route to watch the parade and pay their respects to all who have served.

Lyme Regis Christmas Lights Switch On

It's that special time of year when Lyme really starts to twinkle. Spirits are expected to be high on Saturday 22nd November 2025 as Lyme Regis begins its countdown to Christmas with the big switch on of the town’s Christmas lights. The lighting up of Lyme never fails to draw crowds and gasps of wonder from onlookers soaking up the magical seasonal atmosphere. This year Santa will again be arriving on his sleigh to switch on the lights. The afternoon celebrations commence with the Christmas lantern making workshop at Pine Hall, Lyme Regis Baptist Church at 2pm. This is a free event with all materials provided and is great fun for kids and all the family. Prizes will be awarded for the best lanterns in each age category with judging taking place at 4pm. Lanterns made at home are welcome to enter the competition. Following the judging, the lantern parade will make its way down Broad Street from around 5pm. Lyme Regis Majorettes will be adding a bit of extra sparkle to the proceedings with an energetic routine along with Fitsteps and Lyme Morris who will perform before the lights are switched on. The lights will continue to sparkle until the first week of January, taking the town into a bright New Year.
