This annual celebration transforms the Mid-Norfolk Railway into a living time capsule, offering a rare chance to experience the sights, sounds, and spirit of the wartime era.​Throughout the weekend, you’ll encounter a captivating blend of history and entertainment. Two trains will be in operation, transporting you through the Norfolk countryside as you soak up the atmosphere of the 1940s. Along the line, you’ll discover an array of period vehicles, immersive displays, and interactive exhibits that bring the era vividly to life – from the Home Front to the front lines.​At Dereham Station, history comes alive with a live firepower demonstration, showcasing a range of historical firearms. Meanwhile, re-enactors, vintage stalls, and themed displays offer a fascinating insight into daily life during wartime Britain. For visitors at Wymondham Abbey Halt, further displays and exhibits await, ensuring there’s something to discover at every stop.Day Rover ticket grants you unlimited travel between Dereham and Wymondham Abbey across the whole day, along with access to displays along the line.

At 6:30 pm sharp, the train departs, and the story begins to unfold. As you travel through the picturesque Norfolk countryside on two scenic round trips between Dereham and Thuxton, you’ll find yourself drawn into a tale filled with secrets, suspects, and red herrings at every turn.​While you and your fellow passengers work together to uncover the culprit before time runs out, you’ll be treated to a local sourced meal.
