Make & Take Your Own Floral Arrangement – Still Life Photography – Llandudno Photographic Academy Evening Photography isn’t always about finding the perfect subject, sometimes it’s about creating one. Join Team Welshot for a relaxed and creative Llandudno Photographic Academy Evening where you’ll design your own beautiful floral arrangement before transforming it into a stunning still-life photograph. Each delegate will receive their own selection of fresh flowers to arrange however they choose. Whether you prefer something simple and elegant or colourful and creative, your arrangement becomes your own unique photographic subject. Throughout the evening we’ll guide you through the entire creative process. We’ll help you think about composition, backgrounds, lighting, camera settings and the little details that can make an ordinary photograph become something rather special. There will be plenty of opportunities for both group demonstrations and one-to-one guidance, so whether you’re completely new to still-life photography or looking to develop your creative eye, you’ll be well supported. Once everyone has completed their own arrangement, you’ll also have the chance to photograph the beautiful floral displays created by the other delegates, giving you a variety of different subjects and styles to capture during the evening. And when the photography is finished, your creativity doesn’t end there.

Creative Refraction, Light & Abstract Photography – Llandudno Photographic Academy Evening Have you ever looked through a glass of water and noticed how everything behind it seems to bend, twist or even appear upside down? That’s refraction, and it’s one of the most fascinating ways to create unique and eye-catching photographs. Photography doesn’t always have to be about capturing exactly what you see. Sometimes the most creative images come from bending the rules, and even bending the light. Join Team Welshot for an evening of exploration, experimentation and creative play as we discover the fascinating world of refraction and abstract photography. Using a variety of glassware, crystal balls, prisms, acrylic shapes, mirrors, coloured gels, water droplets and other everyday objects, we’ll transform ordinary subjects into extraordinary works of art. We’ll encourage you to slow down, look beyond the obvious and experiment with how light travels through different materials. You’ll discover how reflections, refractions, colour, texture and distortion can all become part of your composition, producing photographs that are unique, imaginative and often completely unexpected. Meeting at Chester Cross, we’ll begin our afternoon by exploring the historic city walls, Chester Cathedral where you’ll have the chance to photograph its stunning Gothic architecture before the light begins to fade. We will then make our way towards the River Dee, immersing ourselves in the rich history of Chester. As twilight settles in and we move into the evening, we’ll delve into the art of long exposures and low-light photography, revealing the hidden beauty of the city. From wide cityscape vistas of Chester’s landmarks to the intricate architectural details of the Cathedral and the city walls, this workshop will allow you to capture the essence of Chester in a way you’ve never seen before. Learn to see the world through a monochromatic lens, using black and white compositions to emphasize textures and contrasts, while adapting to the changing light and weather conditions. An Anglesey Photographic Adventure with Low-Light & Long Exposure Photography The only thing better than low light and long exposure photography is a day spent photographing lighthouses, piers and bridges during the season of Autumn on the historic island of Anglesey. Join us for this captivating Welshot photography workshop, ideal for embracing the magic of a mid-winter day. Beginning at Penmon, we’ll witness the sunrise over the Great Orme, casting its glow over Llandudno, North Wales. Discover the art of long exposure photography, mastering various shutter speeds to capture the mesmerising ‘Milky / Blurry’ effect on the sea. This day promises a diverse range of subjects and genres, from sweeping seascapes to intricate landscapes, and from architectural marvels to capturing the details of macro and close-up photography. Our journey will take us from the historic Telford’s Menai Bridge to the impressive Britannia Bridge, both of which connect the island of Anglesey to mainland North Wales. These photogenic bridges will provide endless opportunities for capturing their engineering beauty. We’ll start at Coed Cyrnol Car Park and stroll along the Belgium Promenade, with our first stop at Llandysilio Island (also known as Church Island).
