Intermediate Floristry Course: October

This intermediate floristry course is designed for students who already feel confident with the fundamentals of floristry, including hand-tied bouquets and basic floral arrangements, and are ready to take their skills to the next level. Over two structured morning sessions, we’ll move beyond technique and begin to explore what truly makes floral design visually successful — the core elements of design that sit behind every well-composed arrangement. Rather than simply making flowers look beautiful, this course focuses on why arrangements work, and how to design with intention, balance and confidence. What you’ll explore: Across the two sessions, we’ll break down the building blocks of floral composition and explore how they interact with one another: Session One: Texture, Space & Form We’ll begin by looking at how texture and space influence design, and introduce the importance of form in floral work. You’ll create a tropical handtied design that explores contrast, layering and structure, helping you start to see flowers in a more intentional way. Session Two: Form, Line & Colour In the second session, we’ll build on what you’ve learned and focus more deeply on form, directional line, and colour theory. You’ll create an arrangement that brings these elements together into a more considered, design-led composition and also look at leaf manipulation too. Each session includes both practical making and guided teaching, so you can immediately apply the principles as you work.
