One Day Introductory Glass Fusing Class usually held on a Saturday or Sunday once a month. In this class you can produce a number of objects such as glass bowls of various shapes, coasters, wall hangings, jewellery, you will be allocated a space in the kiln on which to fire your day’s creations. The largest piece you can make will be up to a maximum of 30cm square or round, with a couple of smaller pieces too if you have time. We are generous with the materials that we allow you to use in comparison with other classes. As a result you cover more in a day than other classes can in an entire weekend or over a series of evening classes. And it’s not prescriptive, allowing for more creativity.

Fused Glass Christmas Decorations

These classes have always been popular, why not come along and make your own fused glass Christmas Decorations! A seasonal fusing day course where you will learn to safely cut and shape glass and combine it into a range of festive shapes for full fusing or tack fusing, ready to hang on your tree or in your windows! Working with fused glass is an adventure in colour, no previous experience is needed, just a willingness to play! In this exciting day course we will develop our skills in fused glass exploring decorative techniques to make decorations for your tree or perhaps candle holders. We’ll use inclusions in the glass including copper, mica, bubbles, dichroic glass (the jewel-like glass with reflective and refractive qualities). We’ll provide information on where to buy supplies of tools and glass for the future. There is a limit of 6 people per workshop for faster learning and 1:1 attention. If you love working with colour you will enjoy making and designing your own decorations it isn’t difficult and the combinations are limitless. Come and surprise yourself and rediscover your creativity! The decorations your make will be fused overnight and you can either collect them from the studio by mutual arrangement (or we can post them out to you after the course if you prefer). A great day out making gifts and beautiful festive decorations for your home! Happy Christmas! There is a limit of 5 people per workshop enabling faster learning. N.B.

Painting on Glass

This painting on glass beginners class course is designed to teach the basic traditional techniques which have been used for centuries, if want to know how to paint on glass to enhance leaded stained glass panels this is for you. We will be practicing traditional techniques used to make church and cathedral stained glass, including silver staining. Once the vitreous paint is fired in the kiln it becomes part of the glass and is permanent. It is possible to fire the glass several times adding layers of paint until you are happy with your work, with practise it is possible to reduce the number of firings needed with a few techniques we will show you on the course.
