Tai Chi Tuesdays at the National Botanic Garden of Wales Discover the calming benefits of Tai Chi in the beautiful surroundings of the National Botanic Garden of Wales. These welcoming weekly sessions offer an opportunity to improve balance, flexibility, posture, relaxation, and overall wellbeing through gentle, flowing movement. Suitable for complete beginners as well as those with previous experience, the classes provide a supportive and enjoyable environment to learn at your own pace. The sessions are led by Paul, who has been studying Taiji for over 25 years under a succession of skilled, caring, and supportive teachers. Encouraged by his current teacher, Paul began teaching in 2018 and quickly built popular classes across Llandeilo, Ferryside, Carmarthen, and St Clears. During lockdown, he continued teaching online, helping a diverse community of students stay connected, active, and engaged throughout the pandemic. Now teaching once again in St Clears, Paul is delighted to be bringing a new class to the National Botanic Garden of Wales. His teaching combines a short Yang Style Taiji form with complementary qigong and neigong practices, creating sessions that are accessible for beginners while still offering depth and challenge for more experienced students. Come and enjoy mindful movement in one of Wales’ most inspiring natural settings. Free for Members

Set in the stunning surroundings of the National Botanic Garden of Wales, you’ll begin with an engaging classroom session covering the essentials of bee biology and hive management, before getting up close and personal with our colonies during a hands-on practical session. Whether you’re considering keeping bees yourself or simply want to learn more about these vital pollinators, our experienced beekeepers will guide you every step of the way. Key Features: In the classroom: - Learn the basic theory necessary for looking after bees - Learn about their biology, life cycles and roles of each type of bee - Learn about the basic threats to bees such as pests and diseases - Learn about the basic equipment and hive types - Learn about the products of the hive and how we harvest them - Learn about the national associations involved in beekeeping and the major suppliers, and where to obtain further information - Tea/coffee is available during the theory session, and it is advisable to bring additional fluids for the practical session, particularly if it is warm.
