Classical Café: Young Musicians Showcase

We’re delighted to be joined by Teesside-based young musicians, showcasing the emerging talent we have in our area! We still have space for performers, so if you’re a young musician based in the Tees Valley and would like to perform, please contact us on About Classical Café Classical Café is a series of Sunday afternoon performances at Middlesbrough Town Hall. Listen to classical music in a more informal and relaxed atmosphere, enjoying coffee and cake while you listen! Doors open 2pm for refreshments. Tickets £6 (+£1 booking fee), free for under 16s.

Music Careers Panel for Secondary Schools

Come and find out about careers in music! We’re hosting a careers panel at Middlesbrough Town Hall for secondary students. We want young people from the Tees Valley to aspire to do amazing things! There are so many career paths available in music and we want to highlight what young people can achieve in our area. Our panel of local professionals will reflect the huge variety of musical professions available, inspiring young people to think more about careers around their strengths and interests and pursue a career in music. We’ll also have a number of stalls from post-16 education providers for young people to discuss music education in college and beyond. The panel will be hosted by Shakk, BBC Introducing presenter and musician, with panellists: Sarah Wilson, Co-founder of Tracks Darlington Jodie Nicholson, Musician and Creative Practitioner Ian Allcock, Photographer Further information This event is open to all secondary-aged students as well as home educating families. Questions for our panellists can be submitted in advance. This event will include live BSL interpretation. Places are free. To book your seats please email  with a booking form. Schools Big Gig: Rockin' Christmas

Join Musinc for a festive fun-filled Schools Big Gig, delivered by the creative education specialist, Apollo Arts! The gig will include a magical singalong with a live band and loads of musical Christmas games. This live musical experience not only gets your young people singing, dancing and full of festive cheer in a friendly, fun and safe environment, it’s also been designed with the national curriculum for music in mind… so it’s the perfect opportunity to tick that off your Christmas list too! Amplify - December

Amplify is a free performance opportunity for young people aged 12-18 in a friendly and supportive event space. Playing in front of an audience can be intimidating. Amplify is for you if you’re a young musician looking to try something out on a smaller scale and develop your confidence in a more laid-back setting. We encourage both soloists and groups to play for their family, friends, and fellow young musicians. You will also get the opportunity to watch performers from the Bandjam group based at Middlesbrough Town Hall. All genres of music are welcome; your performance doesn’t have to be a completed song and could be music you’ve been working on recently and would like others to hear. Our MC will be present to share their music expertise and manage the performers during the event. How to join as a performer Please fill in this sign up form and we’ll be in touch to confirm your performance slot. Parents and guardians will need to complete forms on behalf of under 18s. You are required to bring your own instruments and cables for the performance. We will provide an electronic drum kit, keyboard, PA, mics and other equipment. How to watch the event Amplify is free to watch. The event will be supervised by staff.
