Jazz Sunday: Cissy & Dan Hughes + Vinyl DJ’s

Following their chance re-encounter in the south-east corner of Glastonbury Festival in 2024, old schoolmates CISSY + Dan Hughes have been writing and performing as a duo and sharing their love for jazz and folk styles. As well as performing their favourite standards from these genres, the pair also enjoy sharing their own tunes, touching on themes of love, loss and the natural world. CISSY + Dan have been known to use Shepton Mallet as a rehearsal base of late so you may have already heard them at the Sunday Jazz sessions in Bar501 so we are really excited to have them returning to play at our FREE OPEN-AIR JAZZ SUNDAY in the Market Place in the heart of the town. The afternoon kicks off with some beautiful vinyl selections spun by DJs from the Bar 501 Jazz Sunday sessions. This event has been supported by Shepton Mallet Town Council. Sunday 21 June, Vinyl DJs from 1pm, Live music 3pm to 5.30pm Market Place, Shepton Mallet BA4 5AZ With Amulet Mobile Bar and food available from The Cheeky Bean Cafe Promoted by Let’s Buy The Amulet Free event but donations to the Let’s Buy The Amulet campaign very welcome. The Let’s Buy The Amulet – Community Share Offer is underway. Please make a difference and together we can buy and reopen The Amulet. The Barefoot Ceilidh Band

The Barefoot Ceilidh Band are known for their high-energy playing and expert calling across Irish, English and Scottish dance traditions. Led by uilleann piper Dominic Henderson, the band also features fiddle, flute, guitar, and unforgettable callers that will lead everyone in the dancing. After their sell-out ceilidh in the Amulet during last summer’s pop-up season, Let’s Buy The Amulet are delighted to have The Barefoot Ceilidh Band playing again, thanks to support from Shepton Mallet Town Council. And this time it is going to be a FREE EVENT outside in the Market Place. Everyone is welcome whether to join in the dancing or just enjoy the great tunes and wonderful musicianship. Sunday 21 June, Event from 6.30pm to 10pm, Market Place, Shepton Mallet BA4 5AZ Licensed bar available Food available from The Cheeky Bean Cafe Free event but donations to Let’s Buy The Amulet very welcome.
