Circular Walk (Shotley)

Shotley WI hosting this circular walk, approx 5 miles.  The Terrain is reasonably flat with a couple of slight inclines.  Mainly on public footpaths, there are a couple of very easy styles to navigate and a short stretch along a very quiet country road. After the walk – a delicious 2 course lunch will be served. Meeting point:  Snods Edge Hall.     Arrive at 10:00 for a 10:30 start.   Cost £15 pp.   Closing date  26th May.

Quilling Workshop

The session in the ancient art of quilling will be led by an experienced tutor. Use strips of paper that will be rolled, looped, curled, twisted and manipulated to produce a beautiful greetings card. All materials and tools will be provided and the session is suitable for all levels of ability. Date. Friday June 19th. Venue. Cresswell House. Time.10 for 10.30 – 12.30. Information get-togethers for WI Presidents and Secretaries (Event code: 2608 / 2609)

Informal get-together for both WI Presidents and Secretaries for those in post or considering taking on these roles.  An opportunity to be brought up-to-date on National and Federation matters, ask questions, share ideas and view and have a chat over a cuppa and biscuits. A fabulous day out – full details to follow… The trip will include a stop off at Northallerton (market day) for refreshments and shopping / browsing.  Then on to Newburgh Priory which is steeped in history and interest.

Knutsford Tapestry talk (Event code: 2610)

Life in Knutsford is captured in a 40 ft tapestry containing 6,500,000 stitches in three panels named Tatton, Canute and Toft. It is a truly amazing piece of art featuring a vast range of very detailed buildings and scenes. One of the original WI supporters of the project will share her insights and details of the work via a video recording. There will be an open discussion and questions and answers, as well as some memorabilia on display. There will be tea/coffee and cake at 2 pm.
