Wellbeing Walks - Shrubland Strollers

Our Walking Group, the Shrubland Strollers will meet at the Hub every Monday* at 1o.30am to start a walk and is open to all ages and abilities. Walking is a great way to get some gentle exercise and the group aims to be friendly and supportive. (Tea/Coffee and Cake are available to purchase when you return after the walk) *Weather permitting

They can offer advice and help with a variety of matters including: + Wellbeing support +  Filling in forms + Benefit checks + Housing issues + Foodbank & related resources Tuesdays: 11am-1pm             Thursdays 1-3pm Drop in to see the team – If they are unable to offer full support during the session, they will book you a further 1:1 appointment. Prospects (Career Advice for 16-18yr olds)

Prospects (part of Shaw Trust) helps young people aged 16-18 who are NEET (not in education, employment or training). On a Tuesday afternoon, Careers Adviser, Catherine Wong attends the Hub from 1pm-3pm (Term-time only)  She can support anyone in this age group to look at their options & opportunities  and support with applications/CV/ interview techniques etc. Please call her on to have an initial chat or to make an appointment.

Free Food Table

On Thursday and Friday, we have a ‘Free Food Table’ where those from the community can come and pick up surplus items donated from supermarkets and/or local growers, that would otherwise be thrown away. The aims is to reduce food waste as well as providing for those who may need it. The bulk of items are here at the Hub from around 9.00am and due to the numbers that use this service, we operate a queue system. On arrival (Please do not arrive earlier than 9am), you can join the queue and take up to 6 items. We do not know beforehand what we will receive or how much we will have to put out and this can vary from week to week. Please note that although this runs until close at 3pm, this is subject to availability.

SEND Support Drop-in

Supporting a child/young person with SEND can feel overwhelming but when things get complicated, you don’t have to face it alone. We run a monthly drop in session* for those looking for support or guidance with a variety of matters including (but not limited to): DLA/PIP Forms EHCP Signposting and referrals Parent & carer wellbeing School refusal/anxiety Benefits and finances Autism pathways Courses  and groups School meetings Transitions and admissions The sessions run on the 3rd Thursday of the month, 11am-1pm – no appointment required, just pop in and see our SEND Support Project Officer, Emma. *One-to-one appointments are also available.
