The Festival Players - The Comedy of Errors

One of Shakespeare’s earliest plays, The Comedy of Errors tells the story of twin sons and their twin servants, separated in a shipwreck. The play explores themes of identity, mistaken identity, and family as we find out what happens when the twins find themselves in the same town on the same day. Confusion and mishap ensue as no one can tell the twins apart, husbands appear to be in love with the wrong person, debts refused to be paid and servants lock masters out of their own homes. The Festival Players bring an all male cast, live original music, comedic chaos, fast-paced story telling, traditional costume and more to Shakespeare’s most farcical play, in their 2026 open-air summer theatre tour. “I’ve always struggled with Shakespeare but the festival players made it understandable and fun” “We always look forward to the festival players annual visit, everyone has a great time” “The live music and songs add to a great atmosphere” “They worked so hard. an incredibly enjoyable evening” The Festival players are an all male theatre company who have been touring open-air Shakespeare shows for over 40 years. Music in the Castle - Ewan Miller & Thomos Boyles

Ewan and Tomos have been performing as a duo across the UK for three years. Together they have played at King’s Place, Wigmore Hall, and the Jacqueline du Pre building amongst others, and have an upcoming recital in Bridgewater Hall. Their unique and seasoned partnership was instrumental in Ewan’s victory at the 2025 Royal Over-Seas League gold medal competition. They take great pride in adapting new music for oboe and piano, and programming in ways audiences find novel and engaging. Their programme will hope to include a new arrangement of Johannes Brahms’ first Violin Sonata in G major.
