Poets' Breakfast Daily

A well loved part of Folk Week for many years. Come along and share your poems and thoughts with this supportive group. This year the sessions will be hosted by our own Frances Turner. Daily Saturday – Friday. Everyone welcome. This is a free event so please put a donation in the tin. Thank you Throughout the year many of our regular poets meet online for ‘Poets Suppers’ please see Sue Flory at the Poets Breakfast events for information to join.

Join the Knitters & Makers

Daily at Bleak House you can join The Broadstairs Knitters for workshops in knitting, crochet and a chat. All are welcome from beginners to experts, yarn, needles and bits, including some finished articles and fabrics are available. They are joined daily by different crafters demonstrating their skills, you have the opportunity to give it a go too. The Albion Knitters have been busy all year making lovely objects for you to purchase, including the, now famous, knitted seagulls. Spinning demonstrations and give it a go daily from 2pm WORKSHOPS – Saturday 9th & Sunday 9th August at 11.30am to 1.00pm All ages welcome This is a free event so please pop a donation in the collecting tin.

All Ages Activity Gazebo

The All Ages Activity Gazebo is a welcoming space for festival goers to slow down, connect, and enjoy creative, low-pressure activities away from the hustle and bustle of the main event. Open Sat.8th and Mon 10th-Fri 14th, the gazebo invites children, families, and adults alike to take part in lo-fi activities like our Gratitude Tree, bracelet making, rock painting, clay play, “Write a Line, Take a Line,” and acoustic music. Whether people stay for five minutes or an hour, the space is designed to encourage creativity, reflection, and connection. Donations are warmly welcomed to help support materials and future Folk Week community activities.
