50s+ Club - iCan Wellbeing Group CIO

50s+ Club – iCan Wellbeing Group CIO iCan Wellbeing Group CIO is a health and wellbeing charity based in Carlisle, supporting around 9,000 people each year to break down barriers and move from “I can’t” to “I can”. We deliver a wide range of activities including 47 instructor led fitness classes and 16 wellbeing sessions each week, all designed to suit different ages and abilities. One of our outreach projects that we are proud to run in the community is our weekly chair based exercise session at Brampton Community Centre, following the work we alongside the therapy team at Brampton Hospital. This gentle inclusive session includes 40 minutes of seated exercises followed by a cup of tea and a chat, helping people build confidence, improve strength and feel part of a supportive community. A huge thank you to Brampton League of Friends for funding both projects. Read and Chat 11am – 12.30pm on the fourth Friday of the month This is a social group open to anyone who wishes to get out of the house, meet new people, and discuss books and stories. There are no set novels, genres, or styles of book. There is no snobbery – Shakespeare is not essential reading (although, bring him along if you wish!)! We each just bring along a book that we have been reading. We discuss fiction, non-fiction, biographies, podcasts, and audiobooks. The more variety, the more interesting the conversation. It’s also a great spot to pick up recommendations for your next read! People who read Braille are welcome. £2 per person – includes refreshments. No booking required just pop in and join in…
