Traherne Festival 2026

34th Traherne Festival - 6th to 8th June 2026 This event is organised and managed by The Traherne Association. For more information or to book tickets please contact Hilary Rosankiewicz on or visit www.thomastraherneassociation.org This year’s Traherne Festival begins on Saturday 6th June at Credenhill Church (5 miles NW of Hereford) – where Traherne was minister – with a Prayer Book Communion service at 9.30am followed by talks and presentations at the church and a lovely catered lunch at nearby Stretton Sugwas Village Hall. Speakers include Dr Keith Clements, Dr Julia Smith, Deborah Rose, Anne Francis. On Sunday the festival moves to the Traherne family church, All Saints Hereford for a eucharist at 9.30 led by the Bishop of Hereford with Dr Sean Cathie preaching. American scholar Dr Jacob Blevins will then lead a close reading of one of Traherne’s poems, before we share another tasty lunch. Finally Bishop David ...

Medieval Hereford Festival

We are excited to welcome you to Hereford Cathedral’s first Medieval Festival, in collaboration with the Hereford City BID. On Saturday 15 and Sunday 16 August 2026, the cathedral and close will be transported back in time in a celebration of Medieval entertainment, craft, and history. All ages are welcome to come and join in the fun, with demonstrations and activities led by professional re-enactors. Alongside archery, squire training, music, dancing, and historical displays, there will be themed food and craft stalls selling local items. Entry to the cathedral and close on Saturday 15 and Sunday 16 August will be free, with some paid ticketed events - more details will be announced soon!

Epic Explorers – Summer Holiday Club 2026

Epic Explorers returns this summer! Our exciting Holiday Club will take place from Wednesday 19 to Friday 21 August 2026 at the cathedral. Calling all young adventurers! This summer, the cathedral will be transformed into a place of wonder, discovery, and fun as we welcome children to Epic Explorers, our Holiday Club for primary-aged children. Over three action-packed days, your child will enjoy a fantastic programme filled with activities, creativity, and adventure, including: Exciting Bible stories Drama, music & creative crafts Bushcraft adventures First Aid workshops with St John Ambulance A workshop with Thomas Trilby, Circus Entertainer Bushcraft sessions with Tim A visit from West Mercia Search and Rescue It’s the perfect mix of learning, laughter, and new experiences, all set within the inspiring surroundings of the cathedral. The Hereford Mysteries

Friday 23 & Saturday 24 October 2026, 7.30 pm The final stage production as part of Hereford Cathedral's Year of Storytelling will be The Hereford Mysteries, directed by The Revd Canon James Pacey. The Hereford Mysteries is an unforgettable theatrical experience - a sweeping retelling of the Bible’s story from Genesis to Revelation, from creation to new creation. Set within the awe-inspiring space of Hereford Cathedral and driven by a powerful soundtrack, this epic production brings to life God’s story of hope, love, and redemption in a bold and breathtaking new way. The performance will begin at 7.30pm (doors open at 7pm) and tickets cost £10 per adult and £6 per child. Group discount applies - purchase ten tickets receive your 11th for free. A Service for Advent in London

Hereford Cathedral Choir will be singing in at The Guards' Chapel, London on Tuesday 1 December 2026 in a service to mark the beginning of Advent. Since 2010, Hereford Cathedral Perpetual Trust has arranged an annual Advent Service in London at the Royal Military Chapel (Guards’ Chapel) at Wellington Barracks. The service opens with an Act of Remembrance of the members of the Special Air Service who have been killed in the course of their duties since the Second World War. The service then continues a sequence of Bible readings and Advent carols which point towards the coming of developed to celebrate the links that Hereford Cathedral has with local military groups, the service has now become a way for supporters of the cathedral, who work or live in London, to hear Hereford Cathedral Choir close to Christmas and to join in an act of Advent worship.
