We are excited to welcome you to Hereford Cathedral’s first Medieval Festival, in collaboration with the Hereford City BID. On Saturday 15 and Sunday 16 August 2026, the cathedral and close will be transported back in time in a celebration of Medieval entertainment, craft, and history. All ages are welcome to come and join in the fun, with demonstrations and activities led by professional re-enactors. Alongside archery, squire training, music, dancing, and historical displays, there will be themed food and craft stalls selling local items. Entry to the cathedral and close on Saturday 15 and Sunday 16 August will be free, with some paid ticketed events - more details will be announced soon!

Traherne Festival 2026

34th Traherne Festival - 6th to 8th June 2026 This event is organised and managed by The Traherne Association. For more information or to book tickets please contact Hilary Rosankiewicz on or visit www.thomastraherneassociation.org This year’s Traherne Festival begins on Saturday 6th June at Credenhill Church (5 miles NW of Hereford) – where Traherne was minister – with a Prayer Book Communion service at 9.30am followed by talks and presentations at the church and a lovely catered lunch at nearby Stretton Sugwas Village Hall. Speakers include Dr Keith Clements, Dr Julia Smith, Deborah Rose, Anne Francis. On Sunday the festival moves to the Traherne family church, All Saints Hereford for a eucharist at 9.30 led by the Bishop of Hereford with Dr Sean Cathie preaching. American scholar Dr Jacob Blevins will then lead a close reading of one of Traherne’s poems, before we share another tasty lunch. Finally Bishop David ...
