Music with Barnfire

BarnFire is a Kent-based guitar and fiddle duo, encompassing many different styles. Depending on the booking, BarnFire can include music from the Scottish and Irish repertoire, some Jazz standards, English Folk tunes, a helping of Classical pieces, a bit of Country, a good old pop song here and there, some Klezmer of course… and more!

Hobby Horse Club at The Bandstand

Each morning, Zoe, Peter, and Evie from Inspiration Creative get all generations singing and dancing together – and wearing some very strange outfits. They are ably supported by our wonderful band-in-residence Giddy Yup and mayhem is provided by the Hooden Horses – the living embodiment of the festival logo and Clarence the Dragon makes a much-anticipated appearance too. Zoe and Peter are both BSL Level 3 signers and will be using BSL throughout the week at Hobby Horse Club, encouraging inclusion for everyone. He lives by the sea in Broadstairs – and now he’s back again!” For those of you that wish to dress up and join in the fun and games, there are daily themes: Saturday 8th – Under the Sea Sunday 9th – Grandparents Day (Grandparent no essential) Monday 10th – Circus Day Tueday 11th – Back to Front Day Wednesday 12th – Wizard of Oz Day Thursday 13th – Pirate Day Friday 14th – Clarence’s superhero Birthday! Clarence & Friends Club – did you know you can join and receive 2 newsletters a year, a badge, membership card and a special dragon green lanyard – and an invite to the annual picnic during Folk Week? Membership is £7. Details online or at our bandstand merchandise stall during the week.

Every afternoon our amazing dance sides will be performing at The Bandstand, you can also catch them around the town and along the promonade throughout the day. This event is free but please put a donation in the festival collecting tins, Thank you.
