Botanical Pastel Drawing Workshop with Sarah Windle

Sarah will be hosting a small, friendly art session where you'll learn how to create a beautiful woodland-inspired drawing-perfect for beginners, no experience needed. * All materials provided * Calm, friendly atmosphere * 2 spaces available per session * Duration 2 hours Pastels can be a little messy so please wear clothing that isn't precious to you. £30 per person, booking through the Centre. Indian Block Printing Workshop with Helen Scoley

A full day of block printing with all materials provided for you to complete lots of lovely projects to take home. During this full-day workshop you will have ample time to explore, experiment and enjoy this traditional craft in a fun, inspiring and relaxing environment. Suitable for all levels of block printing, from beginner to experienced printers, the day will start with an explanation of the equipment needed to block print successfully and a detailed demonstration of how to achieve good prints. You will then explore the many blocks available – and choose your favourite blocks and colours to start printing. Initially, you will print on practice fabric, to build your confidence as you try out different techniques and colours. Once comfortable, you will move on to printing a selection of fabric items: a drawstring bag, a tote bag and tea towel. After lunch (there is a wonderful cafe on site) you will move onto your larger project, choosing either a scarf, cushion cover, laundry bag or large tote bag. Items can be swapped and additional items purchased if required. Having completed your fabric projects, you will move on to printing some cards, tags and wrapping paper/tissue paper. You will leave with a collection of beautifully printed block printed creations. All materials are included. Refreshments are available from the lovely cafe on site. An apron will be available for your use during the workshop.

An Evening ‘Swifts’ Stroll around Caistor

Join us for a talk by Caistor Swifts Group with refreshments, followed by a walk to visit the Swift nesting sites. The walk will take place around the central area of Caistor to watch the swifts feeding over the town square, before spotting them heading home to their young for the night. Tickets £5 per person, including Tea/Coffee/Cake. Available from the Centre, or via Eventbrite (fees apply).
