Rockbourne Roman Villa

Rockbourne Roman Villa lets visitors walk through the remains of the area's largest known villa complex. Bath houses, living quarters, workshops and farm buildings reveal an estate occupied from the Iron Age into the fifth century, with mosaics and parts of its forty-room outline still visible.

The museum displays excavated objects including a major coin hoard, while an outdoor trail explains the ruins. A surviving hypocaust shows that underfloor heating was making an impression long before estate agents discovered the phrase. Picnic space, activity sheets and a shop add practical ways to spend time on site.
