YWMP sessions open to women, trans and non-binary people aged 14 to 25. We meet weekly to share music with each other, discuss artists we love and their stories, write and play music together, learn and share music skills, playlist together, have guests, eat and hold space for each other.

Big Scary Monsters - Celebrating 25 Years

Oxford based independent record label Big Scary Monsters turns 25 years old, and to celebrate they are putting on show with friends at Divine Schism on Friday 14th August at The Nest. The line-up is yet to be revealed but rest assured it's a legendary bill that showcases the sound of the labels early days alongside some very fun, very raucous punk. Divine Schism presents: The Space Lady

Transcendentally beautiful, The Space Lady’s music is returning to Earth. Transmitting messages of peace and harmony, The Space Lady began her odyssey on the streets of Boston in the late 70s, then San Francisco ten years later, playing versions of contemporary pop music with an accordion and dressed flamboyantly. Following the theft and destruction of her accordion, The Space Lady invested in a then-new Casio keyboard, complete with a phase shifter and headset mic, birthing an otherworldly new dimension to popular song that has captured the imaginations of the underground and its leading exponents ever since. In recent years The Space Lady has performed in events such as Flow Festival, Pohoda, Le Guess Who, Down the Rabbit Hole or Donau Festival to name a few. This music has transcended genre, style and fashion, opening up hearts and minds along the way. – The Quietus Bathed in echo and a warm blanket of hiss, Suzy Soundz’ voice is utterly without guile on her Casio covers and Outsider Art explorations – The Guardian Heart-warming, eccentric, and unselfconscious that attends to the fact that you don’t need ego and fancy gear to make great pop music. – Dazed Digital 101 albums to hear before you die. – NME

Divine Schism Presents: Hannah Stretton

Divine Schism are over the moon to be working with Hana Stretton on her new record tour this September as she joins us at the Nest on Thurs 10th Sept alongside WOOM, who will be forming her backing band as well as opening up the evening, Hana Stretton is a British-Australian music producer and composer, recognised for her singular, deeply distinctive sound. Her stunning debut, Soon, quickly became a beloved work within the experimental lo-fi community. Phil Elverum described her music as “mysterious, deep, resonant, inhabitable,” and his label PW Elverum & Sun went on to release the album in 2024. Deeply connected to the natural world, Stretton’s work traces a vivid journey—from the dusty Australian bushland of Soon to the Pacific Ocean on her forthcoming LP, tiarn. Set for release this year, the new record takes an unexpected cinematic turn, weaving together classical and electronic influences. In 2023-2024, Hana toured with Jessica Pratt, Mount Eerie and Julie Byrne as well as selling out London’s RAH Elgar Room, and appearing at festivals such as Haldern Pop and Sound Of Bronkow Festivals.
