Drive It Day

Celebrate the FBHVC Drive It Day at Eden Camp! Location: Eden Camp Modern History Museum, Malton Date: Sunday, 26th April 2026   Don’t miss out on this exciting opportunity to support a great cause, celebrate classic cars, and be part of something special with Eden Camp Modern History Museum and Coast and County Radio! Join us on Sunday, 26th April 2026, for a spectacular Drive It Day event at Eden Camp Modern History Museum, Malton—hosted in partnership with Coast and County Radio! To celebrate the Federation of British Historic Vehicle Clubs national campaign ‘Drive it Day’ we’re bringing together a display of classic cars to mark while raising funds for the NSPCC’s Childline and celebrating the launch of Coast and County Radio’s brand-new Ryedale transmitter on 106.7FM. National Drive It Day was created by the Federation of British Historic Vehicle Clubs in 2005. It is the occasion when historic vehicle enthusiasts and the public at large have the opportunity to celebrate the One Thousand Mile Trial organised in 1900 to prove the viability of the new invention, the motor vehicle. It’s also a chance to raise awareness and support amongst the public for the historic vehicle movement and keeping transport heritage on UK roads.

World War I Weekend

Step back in time this summer and experience the sights, sounds, and stories of the First World War. Join us on 11th and 12th July for a powerful and immersive WWI Reenactment Weekend, where history comes to life across the museum grounds. Witness living history displays, period uniforms, and demonstrations of wartime life on the front line. What to expect: Authentic WWI reenactors and encampments : Groups participating include The Hull Rifles The 1914-21 Society The Matlock Pals Family-friendly activities and educational talks ‘The Baby Killers’ a film documentary about the German naval raid on Scarborough, Whitby & Hartlepool in December 1914 The Commonwealth War Graves Commission will also be in attendance and will be able to provide advice about tracing family members that may have lost their lives in World War One Whether you’re a history enthusiast or just looking for a meaningful day out with the family, Eden Camp’s WWI Weekend promises unforgettable stories and stirring memories from the Great War.
