winter 100 miles

This is a single loop event around the trails of East Sussex and West Sussex. Starting and finishing at Plumpton Racecourse the views are spectacular, and the course is a combination of grass trails, farm tracks and woodland/chalk paths. There is 13,000 ft of elevation to navigate, but the route is generally very runnable and best described as rolling hills with some longer, steeper climbs also. The weather at this time of year can be unpredictable with anything from glorious crisp sunny days to strong winds, rain, sleet, thick fog, freezing conditions and snow. East Sussex in particular, and the eastern side of the South Downs, lends itself to being ideal for a race at this time of year with it having probably the driest climate in the U.K. The terrain has fantastic drainage meaning although some places can and will become wet and muddy, it is generally speaking, very runnable all year round. This race will also form part of the new South Downs Triple Crown challenge if you wish to enter. Triple Crown Permit: Our permits are granted through the ARC. Permit Number pending

Hibernal Hills 20 Miles

The Hibernal Hills 20 mile is a single loop race around the beautiful hills of Hampshire and West Sussex and is a great race distance to get the year off and running. Starting and finishing in the stunning location of Queen Elizabeth Country Park under Butser Hill, runners with follow some great countryside trails, rolling hills and a few steep climbs but on the whole, a very runnable route. The route is made up of a great mixture of trails from flat runnable sections, hills, forest tracks and countryside paths. There is 2900 ft of elevation and as with all our races, it is fully marked for easy navigation and regular Aid Stations. It is a UTMB Index race and worth 1 ITRA point. Our permits are granted through ARC. Permit Number ARC/26/0155

Hibernal Hills 50 Miles

The Hibernal Hills 50 mile is our new, season opening race and, is a great one to kick the year off. This is a single looped event starting and finishing at the stunning location of Queen Elizabeth Country Park in Hampshire. The stunning route is runnable, but undulating with some bigger, longer hills throughout, and around 6400 ft of climbing. The first 50km of the route is along the picturesque Staunton and Monarchs Ways before working up onto the South Downs Way back towards the course is 53 miles long and as with all our races, is fully marked for easy navigation with regular Aid Stations. It is a UTMB Index race and worth 3 ITRA points. This race will also form part of the South Downs Triple Crown if you wish to enter. Hibernal Hills 50k

Hibernal Hills 50k is a single loop race around the beautiful hills of Hampshire and West Sussex and is a great ultra to get the year off and running. Starting and finishing in the stunning location of Queen Elizabeth Country Park under Butser Hill, runners with follow some great countryside trails, rolling hills and a few steep climbs but on the whole, a very runnable route. After leaving QECP, the route runs down to Stansted House, then up along some great wooded trails through Compton to Harting Downs and South Harting before heading back to the start. The course is 31.6 miles long and has 3800 ft of elevation. As with all our races, it is fully marked for easy navigation and regular aid stations. It is a UTMB Index race and worth 2 ITRA points. This race will also form part of the South Downs 50K Triple Crown if you wish to enter. South Downs Triple Crown 50k. Permit: Our permits are granted through the ARC. Permit number ARC/26/0154

Springtide 50k

Springtide 50k

Welcome to the UK Ultra Springtide 50k. A single loop Spring run, starting and finishing in the beautiful, Historic Town of Arundel, West Sussex. This is a very runnable, non-technical route through the South Downs and is a perfect early season ultra for both beginners, seasoned runners, and anyone with plans of taking part in longer races later in the year. The views of the Downs are stunning with rolling hills, grass trails, farm tracks and forest paths making up the route. Starting by Arundel Castle, runners will head up to the Downs before heading through Houghton Forest and Eartham Wood. The route will then loop back towards Findon, through the stunning Angmering Park and Wepham Woods before finishing along the River Arun back to the castle. A great route! There is just over 3000ft of elevation and as with all our races, it is fully marked for easy navigation. It is a UTMB Index race and worth 2 ITRA points.
