Brown Cup Regatta

The Brown Cup Regatta aka Scottish School Sailing Championship is a one-day event for pupils attending a Scottish primary or secondary school to learn and compete. Entry is free to encourage as many participants as possible. Club boats are available for non members to borrow for a suggested donation to the club boat maintenance fund. General Committee Meeting

"Earn a Fizz" Saturday Series

Weekend Series events are member only racing events with separate starts for keelboats and dinghies run by volunteer race officers (Officer of the Day/OOD, rescue boat driver, and rescue boat assist) who aim to complete two races a day for a total of six per series with one discard for every four races sailed. Starts are usually 1400 on Saturdays, and 1300 on Sundays to accommodate an early finish on Sundays and courses will be set by the OOD using the club’s permanent marks depending on the conditions. See Race Hut on race day for specifics on fleet starts, starting procedure, etc. Courses are displayed on the course board outside the hut prior to the preparatory signal. Overall prizes given at the end of the season, although the new names are to encourage members to socialise after racing and discuss who has [Loch] Earn’d an adult beverage with the day’s shenanigans. The volunteer race officers are set annually by the Sailing Secretary so that all members contribute. Remember to arrive an hour before the first start if on the duty team and to arrange a swap via DutyMan if you are unable to do your duty. Shoreline Challenge

The 2026 LESC Shoreline Challenge will take place on Friday, June 26, 2026, for the keelboat fleet only with a 1400 start time. The keelboat fleet have a varied calendar for members’ only racing and cruising alike that take them further afield than regular events including down to Lochearnhead, round every mark, and on a sunset cruise. The Lochearnhead Regatta is a particular highlight because the fleet demonstrate their anchoring skills (or lack thereof) and go ashore for lunch.

Sunday Morning Training is informal training with a member of the LESC Training Team that is open to all members, adult and junior, but primarily geared toward junior sailing skill work and learn-to-race, in particular. Sturrock Cup (Keelboats)

The 2026 LESC Sturrock Cup will take place on Saturday, June 27, 2026, for the keelboat fleet with an 1100 start time and on Sunday, June 28, 2026, for the dinghy fleet also with an 1100 start time. Cup and trophy events are larger, member only racing events with earlier starts and keelboat and dinghy fleets racing on separate days over the course of a weekend. They include the Loch Earn Enterprise Cup, St Fillans Cup, McKeowan Trophy, and Robertson Cup. Like the weekend series, cup and trophy events are also run by volunteer officers using the club’s permanent marks depending on conditions.
