Children's pottery class: "Make your own pet" Saturday 9th May: 11.30am - 1.30pm

Children's pottery class Hosts: Adrienne McKenzie Time: 11am - 1pm Price: £20 per child Come and have fun while you make your own ceramic creation.  Children will learn how to make pinch pots, add features and textures and score and slip. After making your animal, you can glaze it with underglaze.  We will dry and fire your animal in the kiln and then clear glaze it and refire.  Your animal will be ready to collect in approximately three weeks from date of class.  We will notify you when it's ready for collection. All materials are provided What We Need From You: Your name, email address and telephone number, your child's name.  Please also make us aware of any disabilities, special requirements or anything you need us to be mindful of when teaching your child. You can do this by sending us an email at Children should be accompanied to this workshop by an adult.  Adults are expected to stay for the duration of the class. A comfortable seating area with complimentary tea and coffee is provided. During the workshops, we may take photographs for use on our social media and on our website. If you do not wish your child to be photographed please let us know. Silver ring making: Thursday 9th July

Silver ring making Host: Ruth Patterson Cost: £39 In this workshop you will learn to create your very own simple sterling silver ring. Working with sterling silver we will use traditional jewellery making techniques to create a beautiful silver band ring for you to wear and take home. We will learn to size your ring and add texture the surface, the ring will then be soldered, after which you will clean, finish and polish your ring so that you can wear it . The course cost includes materials for one silver ring. Suitable for those aged 16 years and over. No previous jewellery experience is necessary, all materials to make your ring are supplied and all tools needed for the class will be provided for use during the workshop. As we will be working with tools, loose clothing should be avoided, closed toe shoes should be worn, if you have long hair it should be worn tied back and please remember to bring glasses if needed as we will be working with small objects. The workshop takes place on the first floor, tea and coffee will be available. What We Need From You: Your name, email address and telephone number. Children's crochet Host: Val Riddiough Time: 6pm - 8pm Price: £15 This workshop is for children who are aged 8+. Crochet requires a level of dexterity in their fingers that usually hasn't formed before age 8. We want children to have the best experience and not be put off learning this skill. This class is ideally suited to children who have already attended our Children's beginners classes or had a private lesson with us and/or have a good understanding of basic crochet stitches. This class is for children who are ready to move onto making toys and 3D shapes. They will be taught how to make an amigurumi practice ball in their first session and advised on which yarns to select and the wide variety of projects they can look forward to making. Examples of crochet toys will be displayed for inspiration as well as a supply of projects and designs which they can select from as they move forward on their exciting crochet toy making journey. All materials for your child to practice with are provided at the class. However, once your child decides on which project they would like to complete we will guide you on purchasing the required materials. If your child already has crochet hooks and yarn please feel free to bring them along. What We Need From You: Your name, email address and telephone number, your child's name and their favourite colour (if they have one).

Fused glass workshop Host: Pauline Graham Time: 2pm - 5pm Price: £40 In this workshop you will be taken through the steps to create your own fused glass hanging cityscape, garden or underwater scene panel.  You will design your own image, learn to score, cut and grind glass pieces and apply enamel paint. Your panel will be ready for collection from The Crafty Coo within one week. Everything you need is provided, including optional cutting gloves and protective eyewear. Please also adhere to our “no open footwear” safety policy. This workshop will take place in our workshop on the first floor which is only accessible via stairs. What We Need From You: Your name, email address and telephone number.  Please also make us aware of any disabilities, special requirements or anything you need us to be mindful of, we want to ensure you have the best experience possible.
