Opa Rosa

Fast gaining a reputation as one of UK’s most dynamic and virtuosic bands, Opa Rosa are an energetic acoustic ensemble sharing music from the Balkan, Greek, Klezmer & Roma traditions. With several combined decades of study and experience, all five musicians are well-versed in the musical traditions’ syntax and significance, capturing all the joy and sorrow that these traditions are so renowned for expressing. Deeply rooted in Balkan traditions, Opa Rosa’s music aims to explore and reinvent the motifs of Eastern Europe by subtly drawing from other musical influences such as Post-Rock, Classical and Jazz. With their lineup of violin, clarinet, accordion, double bass and percussion, their unique and refined sound consists of an explosive and grooving rhythm section combined with intricate melodies soaring over rich and nuanced harmonic structures. Fresh off the release of their anticipated New Album 'Havasi Klub', they continue to captivate domestic and international audiences with their engaging and high-energy performances. They have sold-out performances headlining Bristol Beacon, The Cornish Bank (Falmouth), Jamboree (London) and various festivals including Priddy Folk Festival, Purbeck Folk, Fire in the Mountain, Smuggler’s Festival, Boomtown and Secret Garden Party. Enjoy a collection of vibrant and soulful melodies played with fiery precision, and let Opa Rosa take you on a foot-stomping journey through the Balkans and beyond!

Sessions are led by professional artists and practitioners across a range of art forms. Join Momentum to gain insight into the world of Salisbury Playhouse, try something new and meet new people. Sessions are fortnightly. Choose just the ones that interest you, or book for all 8 sessions at once and get 1 session free. Salisbury Stanza Poetry Group

Join A New Stanza Poetry Group in Salisbury! We're excited to invite you to join a group for like-minded poetry lovers in our area interested in developing a local poetry community. The Salisbury Stanza Poetry group will usually meet on the third Friday of the month. Stanzas are groups run voluntarily by Poetry Society members, and they take a variety of forms. Some Stanzas meet to give feedback on each other's poems in progress, some are poetry reading groups, and some run impromptu open mic sessions. Usually meeting once a month, groups’ primary aim is to make poetry accessible to everyone. While the Stanza representative needs to be a Poetry Society member, the group is open to both members and non-members alike. Whether you're an experienced poet with publications under your belt or just starting to explore poetry, you'll be very welcome. The group will be a supportive space where you can share and workshop poems in progress, discuss poetry and explore different styles and voices, exchange constructive feedback in a friendly environment, connect with like-minded poetry enthusiasts, and celebrate each other's successes and creative journeys. By joining, you'll become part of a network of poetry lovers across the country, with access to news, opportunities, competitions, and events run by The Poetry Society. You'll develop your craft with supportive peers and build lasting friendships with fellow poets.

Step behind the scenes and find out how we make our celebrated productions. Tread the boards of the Main Stage, walk the dressing room corridors, have a peek at our costume department and see where the amazing scenery is constructed. If you are a school or social group we are able to arrange bespoke tours at other times: get in touch to find out when you can book yours, on Our building is over 40 years old and as such some areas are difficult to access, alternative routes can be arranged where possible. Jam Session

Jamming is all about informal music making with others, experimenting, learning new techniques, and building confidence. In this session, you will be supported by music professionals to create music with other young people, listening to each other, and responding as you play. You’re welcome to bring your own instrument, or use our guitar, keyboard, or drum kit. If you’re working on vocals, you can practice on the mic and even bring a backing track. All abilities are welcome to have a go during this workshop, taking part at your own pace. Snacks and soft drinks will be available to buy, and you’re welcome to bring your own food or order something in for dinner.

Dementia Arts Group

A new partnership between Beyond Dementia, Dance Six-0 and Wiltshire Creative. Join us at Salisbury Arts Centre for a weekly dementia friendly group facilitated by professional artists and staff from Beyond Dementia. Each month we will rotate sessions in art, music, dance and a memory café which will stimulate, uplift and connect people living with dementia and their carers alike. Each participant requires their own ticket for these sessions. Carers are warmly encouraged to join in as participants and also require a ticket. Trained volunteers are on hand to lend support as needed. Weekly sessions on Mondays from 10.30am – 12pm.

CrAfter School Club

Step into a world of creativity at the CrAfter School Club! Our art room is bursting with colourful supplies, ready to spark imagination and hands-on fun. Children will be able to explore a wide range of crafts from papercrafts to simple sewing and proudly take home their unique creations.Throughout the term we'll be using card, recycled materials, felt, textile scraps, and paints to explore different themes. It's a fantastic chance for kids to make new friends and share their creativity together. CrAfter School Club will be led by Teri Buxton, an experienced craft workshop leader and costume maker.Please note the change of start time for this term’s sessions, which will begin at 4.30pm.CrAfter School Club is run in 5 week terms, bookable separately. Autumn Term 1: 21st September to 19th October Autumn Term 2: 2nd November to 30th NovemberThe cost for a 5 week term is £47.50. All materials provided. It’s designed for people who prefer environments where they don’t have to mask, perform, or explain themselves. You don’t need to be “good at art.” You don’t need experience. Everything is simple, sensory‑aware, and done at your own pace. This group is for anyone who is: diagnosed self‑identified questioning waiting for assessment or simply wanting a space where their way of being is understood This is not a therapy group, but it is a therapeutic, supportive space run by trained professionals.

Salisbury Arts Centre Pop-Up Café

Join us at our trial pop-up cafe, staffed by volunteers with a passion for the Arts Centre and for creating a welcoming space for local people in a building that so many people love. Open from 10 – 2pm on a range of dates – pop along to our pop-up for a cup of tea and a cake beneath the stained glass of St Edmunds. Everyone is welcome, from babes-in-arms to our arts centre elders, with a £2 hot drink always available so that a catch-up with friends need not cost the earth.
