Salisbury Arts Centre Pop-Up Café

Join us at our trial pop-up cafe, staffed by volunteers with a passion for the Arts Centre and for creating a welcoming space for local people in a building that so many people love. Open from 10 – 2pm on a range of dates this Spring/Summer. Check our pop-up dates before popping along to our pop-up for a cup of tea and a cake beneath the stained glass of St Edmunds. Everyone is welcome, from babes-in-arms to our arts centre elders, with a £2 hot drink always available so that a catch-up with friends need not cost the earth.

Backstage Tour: Romeo and Juliet

Step behind the scenes on this fascinating and unique production and its route in and around the Salisbury Playhouse. Find out how we planned this huge theatre experience, how creative decisions were made through staging, performance and design and how the challenges of moving 300 people through the world of the Montagues and Capulets were met. A fascinating insight for those seeing the production and anyone interested in site specific theatre or events. Our building is over 40 years old, and this tour includes tracing the route of this promenade production, as such some areas are difficult to access, alternative routes can be arranged where possible. Do let us know, on booking, if you have any access requirements.

Beginners Please

'Beginners Please' is the phrase that all actors hear over the tannoy, 5 minutes before a show starts, calling them to the stage. This project calls local primary pupils (KS1&2) to the Salberg Studio Theatre stage at Salisbury Playhouse to benefit from a professional performance experience that builds confidence, resilience, oracy and cultural capital.
