Church Yard Tidy Up

Help us to make our Church Yard a beautiful place for those with loved ones here, and for the whole community. Join us for all or part of the morning for our Church Yard Tidy up. 'Friends of St John the Baptist Churchyard' and members of the local community who enjoy the Churchyard are very welcome. Refreshments will be available to all the volunteers who attend. If possible sign up to let us know you are coming so we can ensure enough bacon barms for all who come! Bring a friend and bring your own tools (brushes, shovels for sweeping paths, clippers etc. Petrol strimmers are particularly welcome.) You can come for the whole time, or just part of the time - every 15 minutes of volunteering can make a huge difference! Bacon & egg butties, and brews available for those helping out! The Grace Course @ SJB

Join us for an 8 week bible course where we encounter the wonder of grace, and explore freedom and fruitfulness in Christ. The Grace Course is to help Christians recover their first love for God (see Revelation 2:4) so that we go on to love others and make a great impact on the world. Perfect for newer Christians or for those who became Christians many years ago, and everyone in between. It is a great follow up course for those who have completed the 321 Course. Brews from 7pm, starting 7.15pm until 9pm. Please sign up so we can ensure enough resources for all. Prayer Connect (Church Prayer Room)

A prayer group who faithfully meet each Friday morning, to pray together and wait on God. All are welcome to come and join us! Aim is to: Connect with God. Why do we meet?: We meet because we want to know the Lord, to know Him, to be led by Him and to know His will for our lives and the church. What we do?: We seek the Lord and draw near to Him, in prayer, in praise, in song Psalm 100). We also spend time listening and in His goodness the Lord has drawn near to us. What is praying?: You could say it is two-way communication with God, whether in silence, in song, in speaking and in listening. God is able to communicate with us in a variety of ways. Who is it for?: It is for those who want to know the Lord more, and have a desire for God to transform the area, themselves and those they love. Do I have to pray out loud?: Not if you don't want to, just come as you are. Are there any key bible verses that the Lord has shared?: A couple, or favourites would have to be Hebrews 11:6(b) – Those who comes to God must believe He exists and that He rewards those who diligently seek Him. Another is Amos 5:4 – Seek me and live [says the Lord]. So do I have to have loads of faith to come along?: Whether you have a lot of faith or a little, come and join us. What have you got to lose?
