GONG The universe of Gong began in 1969 when Daevid Allen was inspired by a profound psychedelic vision. A founder member of Soft Machine, Allen incorporated his spiritual and metaphysical leanings into an evolving collective, more a mythology than a band in the conventional sense. The current incarnation, who were put together by Daevid before his swansong album with Gong, ‘I See You’, honour his intention that Gong do not die with him, urging the band to “carry it on into new unknown heights and depths far beyond anything I could ever imagine myself”. The collective is the most stable in Gong’s illustrious history, having written, recorded and toured together for eleven years since Allen’s passing. A dynamic, powerful and explosive live band, their music draws from the credo of the original Gong while remaining committed to pushing the composition, performances and message into new realms, paying no mind to nostalgia. THE FIZZ Cheryl Baker and Jay Aston – two names iconic in Eurovision history – first rose to fame as members of the Eurovision-winning group Bucks Fizz. Now performing as The Fizz, they continue to delight audiences with the timeless pop sound that made them household names. Following the recent retirement of Mike Nolan, Cheryl and Jay are joined by Matthew Pateman and Nikk Mager. Matthew first found fame as the lead singer of 90s boy band Bad Boys Inc, while Nikk rose to prominence in the group Phixx, formed on the TV series Popstars: The Rivals in 2002. Both acts enjoyed significant chart success. With more than 20 hit singles to their name – including the No.1 classics “The Land of Make Believe,” “My Camera Never Lies,” and the Eurovision-winning “Making Your Mind Up” – The Fizz continue to wow audiences with their vocal performances and infectious live energy. Recent years have seen the band busier than ever, performing at festivals and major 80s events across the UK while also returning to the studio. They have recorded four albums with legendary producer Mike Stock (Stock Aitken Waterman).
