Martin Turner (Ex Wishbone Ash)

Martin Turner is best known as the founding bassist, vocalist, and principal songwriter of the pioneering rock band Wishbone Ash. Beginning his musical journey on guitar at age fourteen before moving to bass, Martin formed his first band, the Torinoes, in 1963 with his brother Glenn. After evolving into the Empty Vessels and relocating to London, the group ultimately transformed into Wishbone Ash in 1969 with the addition of Ted Turner and Andy Powell. Throughout the band’s classic first decade, Martin’s melodic bass style, distinctive vocals, and creative songwriting became central to Wishbone Ash’s sound. After departing the group in 1980, he pursued record production and continued writing and recording, later rejoining the original Wishbone Ash lineup in 1987 for a series of acclaimed albums. Martin released his debut solo album, Walking The Reeperbahn, in 1996 and went on to collaborate with various artists, including The Blue Bishops. In 2005 he returned to the stage with a new band dedicated to celebrating the music of Wishbone Ash, a mission he continues through extensive touring and live releases. His most recent original studio album, Written in the Stars, arrived in 2015. Martin Turner remains a respected figure in British rock, committed to preserving and performing the timeless music that defined Wishbone Ash’s classic era.

CHINA CRISIS China Crisis are an English new wave and synth-pop band. They were formed in 1979 in Kirkby, near Liverpool, Merseyside with a core of vocalist/keyboardist Gary Daly and guitarist Eddie Lundon. China Crisis were part of a wave of new Liverpool acts in the late 1970s and early 1980s, led by OMD and also including Echo and the Bunnymen, The Teardrop Explodes, A Flock of Seagulls and Frankie Goes to Hollywood. Known for their string of hit singles, including African & White, Chrstian, Working with Fire and Steel, Black Man Ray and Wishful Thinking, the band will be performing these classics and more, alongside tracks from the new album. Simulation Muse and The Runaway Killers began life as ProtoStereo in 2014. Regarded amongst many venues as one of the highest quality cover bands on the live entertainment circuit, they held their audiences with their renditions of some of the biggest modern rock hits of the last 20 years. The Cureheads + Siouxsie & The Budgiees - The Story of Goth The original tribute to British 'Godfathers of Goth'; The Cure. The Cureheads have been together since 1990 and celebrated 30 years together in 2020. They have recreated the look, sound and atmosphere of shows by The Cure and have taken their show around the UK, Spain, France, Italy, Eastern Europe, South America, Japan and The USA. Special guests for the evening are Siouxie & The Budgiees - From the Happy house to the Hong Kong Garden Takeaway the Budgiees aim to please any fans of the Gothic Punk Queen and her Banshees. The UK based band strive to recreate the sounds, shapes and fashion-influencing style of, perhaps one of the most important influencers of the British Avant Garde scene. The Budgiees are named after The Banshees drummer “Budgie”. They play originals and covers made famous by The Banshees and occasionally are joined onstage by The Cureheads frontman to celebrate the time that Cure frontman Robert Smith was on guitar duty for Siouxsie & The Banshees. “Sally Holliday of neo-folk supergroup “The Eden House” plays Siouxsie in an amazingly convincing way. Her voice is easily as strong as Siouxsie and the attention to detail in her impression held up well for the entirety of the show. The Budgiees drove the tunes home under “Siouxsie’s” powerful guidance. I think I even shed a tear for my long dead Tippex encrusted leather biker jacket at one point.
