IT’S NICE UP NORTH SCREENING TOUR AUTUMN 2026 ‘Utterly inspired’ MARC LEE, The Telegraph RBM presents.. A 20th-anniversary screening tour of Graham Fellows’ much loved comedy documentary It’s Nice Up North starring his alter ego John Shuttleworth. The tour is also being presented as a tribute to the late Martin Parr, the celebrated photographer who shot the movie, and whose distinctive eye is central to the movie’s charm and enduring appeal. ‘Eccentric, beautifully inconsequential..’ Time Out It’s Nice Up North follows the legendary comic character John Shuttleworth - on a gently absurd journey through the Shetland Islands to test the theory that the further north you go, the nicer people become. Foiled by failing light, let down by a flat car battery, and buffeted by the constant wind, John doggedly pursues his quest; asking everyone he meets the all important question; ‘Is it nice up North?’Co-starring Shetland tour guide, Elma Johnson, as herself, and featuring the magical and inspiring music of Shetland’s folk ensemble Fiddlers Bid “A hilarious spoof travelogue" (Metro) Long-time Louth resident Graham Fellows will be in attendance for a post-screening Q&A, and to discuss his on and off screen relationship with Martin Parr and how the photographer chose to adapt his legendary techniques to a film camera and crew on a remote Scottish island. ‘An intriguing sociological study of a slightly odd man’ Sunday Times Length: 2 hours including interval.

Holmes & Watson: The Curious Case Of The Masked Magician

"TELL ME EVERYTHING, HOLMES" 1t’s 1906 - the Golden Age of Magic. The Masked Magician bestrides London’s world of Magic like a colossus, UNTIL ... one night, in mid-performance, the Magician vanishes. Dead? Kidnapped? In hiding? After a month Scotland Yard is completely baffled (obviously) and call in Sherlock Holmes to help solve the mystery of the Masked Magician’s disappearance. Holmes (with an excitable Watson in tow) plunges into the secret world of Edwardian Magic only to find that the Masked Magician’s identity is Magic's best kept secret. As they meet, and question, the Magician‘s peers (seeing a lot of Magic), the mystery of his identity and fate deepens. As they unravel clue after clue, Holmes comes to share Watson’s wonder and discovers that it can sit alongside his logical outlook. When Holmes finally uncovers the startling and surprising secrets of the Masked Magician he, Watson and the audience have to decide ........ are some mysteries best left as...mysteries!

Steve Holbrook, regarded by many as one of the UK’s top Clairvoyant Mediums, is visiting locally very shortly, and he explains how he hears the voices of our loved ones that have passed away. His ability has taken him to Theatres and Hotels around the country, and as far as the Caribbean, demonstrating his unique ability to act as a telephone exchange between this world and the Spirit world. His ability to give messages of re-assurance to people who have lost their loved ones, has been overwhelmingly witnessed by thousands over the years, and Steve says ‘It helps them understand that life continues, just simply in a different dimension’. One lady’s mum came through to her in one of Steves messages, and said to the daughter “don’t forget the brown Prada handbag on Friday”. The lady replied “I’m putting it in my mums coffin on Friday, she only died 5 days ago”. Who would know this information? One of Steves best friends is the BAFTA Award-winner Jane MacDonald, singer and once co-presenter on ITV’s ‘Loose Women’, Channel 5’s ‘Cruising with Jane MacDonald’, and ‘Jane and Friends’. Steve met Jane in a Spiritualist Church many years ago, and predicted she would be on BBC TV as part of a cruise entertainment documentary. She didn’t believe it, but the year after it came true, and she was the star of The Cruise, the first docu-soap, and she had the biggest selling debut album of all time.
