Sam Kelly with Jamie Francis

Sam Kelly & Jamie Francis are the main writing team behind acclaimed folk band Sam Kelly & The Lost Boys, and have garnered a reputation as one of the most high-class and influential duos to come out of the UK folk scene in recent years. Both successful musicians in their own right – Sam plays guitar in Kate Rusby’s band and works as a record producer and Jamie is known as one of the UK’s foremost banjo players, publishing a book and multiple online lessons for the legendary US company Deering Banjos. Sam & Jamie signed a publishing deal with Wipe Out Music in 2016, and have a varied and successful writing portfolio with the company, having their music used on Sky Sports, Channel 4, Sky Arts, BBC Two, BA flights and more. Expect to hear traditional folk music from the British Isles and USA – with barnstorming instrumental performances of Irish jigs and reels, tender folk ballads, as well as original material from both artists as they work on a brand new duo album due for release later this year. Broadcaster Mike Harding described Sam as ‘one of my favourite singers ever’ and legendary guitarist Martin Simpson described Jamie as ‘an annoyingly good banjo player!’. This show is not one to miss!

Toby Shaer, Archie Moss & Jack Warnock

A brand-new trio formed by three seasoned session musicians, this collaboration between Toby Shaer, Archie Moss and Jack Warnock was born out of a shared love for traditional music from the UK, Ireland, and mainland Europe. Since meeting in 2019, the trio have established themselves not only as dynamic performers but also as sensitive re-interpreters of the tradition. Each artist is well respected in their own right: Archie Moss (accordion) is a BBC award-winning musician, a celebrated composer, and one of the most in-demand button accordion players in the UK, has performed alongside Seth Lakeman, Sam Sweeney, and Eliza Carthy. Toby Shaer (fiddle, flute, whistles, cittern) is a multi-instrumentalist, composer, andproducer from the south east of England. Over the past ten years, he has toured extensively across Europe, Australia, and China with revered artists such as Cara Dillon, McCusker, McGoldrick, Doyle, and, alongside Archie Moss, with Sam Kelly & the Lost Boys. Jack Warnock (guitar, vocals) hails from Co. Derry in Ireland. An award-winning guitarist and singer, he is also an avid Gaeilgeoir (Irish speaker), performing songs in both Irish and English. His compositions and repertoire are steeped in storytelling as he embraces the lineage of folk music in its truest form. This trio approach their craft and arrangements with delicacy and thought, drawing influence from a plethora of traditions.

Acclaimed fiddle and viola player Grace Smith is joined by Sam Partridge (concertina) and Tom Kimber (mandolin) in this innovative ensemble, which offers a fresh take on folk. Drawing deeply from tradition, whilst also expanding their repertoire with new melodies of their own, the Grace Smith Trio explores the boundaries of what folk can be to mesmerising effect; their music will stay with you long after you finish listening. Their debut album Overleaf was released in Autumn 2023 to great critical reception. In their review of Overleaf, Klof Mag said; “If you’re looking for the exciting future of instrumental folk music, you need search no further.” Archie Churchill-Moss’s journey through the musical landscape is one of rich collaboration and unwavering commitment to the diatonic button accordion—a craft that has earned him widespread acclaim and reverence. A pioneer in combining folk music with live electronics and a celebrated composer, Archie’s innovative approach seamlessly blends traditional idioms with contemporary composition. His keen attention to modern influences has enabled him to create soundscapes that expand the horizons of folk music. His music has resonated widely, receiving multiple plays on BBC Radio 2 and BBC Radio 3.
