Andrew Johnson (Full band) + Anna Karila & Izzy Neish

Stockton based music artist Andrew Johnson has put together his first ever full band shows of original solo songs. Hardly a slacker in the output department he has written, recorded and released over 20 albums under his own name since 2003 (40+ if you include other guises). Drawing on a wide range of influences Andrew will be focussing, at these shows at least, on the “greatest hits that never were” plus big tunes from last year’s acclaimed Exercise In Style album and a little taste of what’s next too. “I’ve amassed a killer set of songs along the way and thought it was time to give them an airing in their fullest glory. I’m writing my best stuff right now too so it’s a chance to present that with a big sound” Having carved out a solid reputation as an energetic, soulful and captivating frontman in The Southmartins the crowd can expect more of the same here too. For fans of The Beatles, Elliot Smith, Squeeze and  other melodic indie-rock these are unmissable shows and, who knows, perhaps the only chance to hear these songs at full force. RnB: Jon Amor Trio

Jon Amor is the kind of artist who thrives on live music, he first appeared in 1999 as the guitarist of The Hoax, immediately leaving his calling card. Both sides wanted more, and over the years he returned with various line-ups. Now he performs as a trio with Jerry Soffe on bass and Tom Gilkes on drums. The towering Brit is hard to pin down musically. He is a distinctive songwriter who aims to surprise with his music, whether rock, pop, funk, or blues. With his current band, he returns to his blues-rock roots. Sometimes it’s raw and powerful, other times brooding and menacing, or even danceable and funky. But there is always room for improvisation and his signature solos, making every performance from this power trio a unique experience.
