There Be Dragons

There Be Dragons Children’s craft workshop Thursday 23rd July, 11am – 12.30pm (last few tickets left), or 1.30pm – 3pm Make your very own light-up dragon to take home. Choose between a fire breathing dragon, an ice-shooting dragon or a venomous green dragon and custom decorate your mythical beast. Learn about connecting circuits to make it glow. Tickets: £9.50 per participant Children must be accompanied by an adult. Suitable for children aged 7-11. Spaces are limited so book early to avoid disappointment! Please note, due to the space in the Aedwen Room, this event is limited to one accompanying adult ticket per child ticket. Children should be accompanied by an adult at all times during the workshop, with a minimum of 1 adult for every two children. Museum admission is not required for this workshop, however, the ticket does not include access to the museum galleries.

Myths and Legends A drop-in family event immersing you in worlds of brave knights and fiery dragons. Friday 24th July, 10.30am – 4pm From dragons and unicorns to knights and princess, come explore the legendary stories of the medieval romances. Throughout our galleries you’ll find story-based activities, places to play and stories to read. Timed storytelling sessions throughout the day will immerse you in worlds of wonder and magic. Event included with admission ticket or annual pass Storyteller sessions, £1 per person per session, book on arrival.

Jousting Knights

Jousting Knights Children’s craft workshop Tuesday 18th August, 11am – 12.30pm Make your very own jousting knight and challenge your friends! Create your own jousting knight with a pull-back mechanism. Hold tournaments with your friends, which knight will be victorious? Tickets: £7 per participant Children must be accompanied by an adult. Suitable for children aged 7-11. Spaces are limited so book early to avoid disappointment! Birds of Prey

Birds of Prey Join the Raptor Foundation at Ely Museum to learn more about their magnificent birds. Wednesday 19th August, 10.30am – 4pm We are delighted to announce the return of the Raptor Foundation to Ely Museum, with their beautiful birds of prey. Falconry was a popular sport in the medieval period, undertaken by men and women alike. Come along to find out more. Little Explorers at Ely Museum – September 2026

Our Little Explorer mornings are a workshop for accompanied pre-school children held monthly at the museum. Join us for creative sessions of themed activities, crafts, stories and songs. Enrich your day with opportunities for social interaction, development of fine motor skills and imaginative play. Tickets, which should be pre-booked online, are £3.50 for children. The session usually takes place on the third Friday of the month, and runs from 10:00am – 12:00pm. Children must be accompanied throughout. Accompanying adults must have a museum annual pass or purchase an admission ticket. As space in the room is limited, please try to keep numbers of accompanying adults to one per child, unless agreed by Ely Museum staff in advance. There is lift access to the Aedwen room, a place for pushchairs & baby changing facilities on both floors of the museum. Our September theme is In the Jungle.
