Born in the post-industrial pulse of Barnsley, Maybe Gold ls the grit of Yorkshire streets into shimmering, electrified soundscapes. Equal parts neon nostalgia and modern urgency, their music fuses driving guitar lines with analog synth textures, creating songs that feel like late-night bus rides, flickering streetlights, and big, unspoken ambitions. Formed by a tight-knit group of mates who grew up on a steady diet of local sticky-floored gig venues, the band quickly built a reputation for explosive live shows. Fresh from a breakout year that’s seen millions of streams, sold out shows and growing international attention, Sam Scherdel returns to Yellow Arch Studios for a special hometown headline show celebrating the upcoming EP, Boy Who Fell To Earth. Known for his raw lyricism, soaring choruses and powerful live performances, Sam has built a fiercely independent following through relentless touring and word of mouth, earning support from BBC Introducing, Radio X and audiences far beyond the UK. Blending heartland rock, indie and cinematic songwriting, his shows have become known for their intensity, honesty and connection. Recorded at the historic Yellow Arch Studios and co-produced alongside Mercury Prize nominated producer Colin Elliot, Boy Who Fell To Earth marks a bold new chapter. This intimate Sheffield date offers a first chance to hear new material from the forthcoming EP live, including the summer-leaning single “Kyoto Snow”, alongside “Somewhere in the Middle”, which has already amassed millions of streams worldwide. Kick-start Sheffield’s Migration Matters Festival 2026 with a spectacular night of diverse music. This Sheffield festival is the biggest Refugee Week event of its kind in the UK, taking place over nine days in the city from June 19-27. This year’s opening party features: Kefaya & Elaha SoroorAfghan singer Elaha Soroor and eclectic London-based ensemble Kefaya have joined forces for a mighty and mesmerising new album, Songs Of Our Mothers; a fresh, vibrant and beautiful take on Afghan folk music filtered through myriad forms, from spiritual jazz and dub to Indian classical music and electronica. Gnawa ManchesterGnawa Manchester brings the hypnotic trance rhythms of Morocco’s Gnawa tradition to UK audiences ---- music that’s far more than a genre, rooted in spiritual performance and centuries of cultural history. Led by Zakaryae on the guembri (bass guitar), the band delivers a modern fusion sound, weaving Sub-Saharan sacred influences with touches of jazz and blues through an energetic mix of instruments. Expect deep grooves, call-and-response spirit, and an immersive, mystical journey that lifts the room! Dungi Sapor - Drifting Sound: Echoes Across TidesPresented by Kakilang, Co-Produced with Wildtune, supported by Taiwan Ministry of CultureDJ Dungi (Dungi Sapor) presents a live set that fuses Taiwanese Amis indigenous vocals with experimental electronic sound.

Celebrate the final night of Migration Matters Festival 2026 with an electric night of music, community and good times. This Sheffield festival is the biggest Refugee Week event of its kind in the UK, taking place over nine days in the city from June 19-27. The final live music headline act for the closing party will be announced soon, but you can already expect: Mim Suleiman Mim Suleiman has been described as the Mama Africa of the modern era. A boundary-crossing performer who defies categorisation, she reaches deep into her East African heritage to blend traditional Taarab vibes with dub, jazz, soul and funk.A gifted composer and songwriter in both English and Swahili, she sings in a variety of languages and her versatile and charismatic presence have led to collaborations with some of the biggest names in Africa and the diaspora. DiaspoRIDDIM DiaspoRIDDIM returns to Migration Matters Festival 2026 after last year's massively successful debut, where guest DJs Lyla (Pakistan), Chook Ly (Cambodia/Vietnam/France), and the Beirut Groove Collective (Lebanon) alongside local talent Kom Kom(British-Khmer), Palanca Negra (Angola/Portugal) and DisOrientalist (Pakistan), brought us the most dancefloor shaking borderless mixes.This is club culture at its most boundary-breaking: a night where artists whose identities have been shaped by migration bring together traditional sounds and future seeking electronica.
