Hackney Colliery Band

Since 2009, east London musical pioneers Hackney Colliery Band have pushed the boundaries of brass band conventions, building a steadfast fanbase with their joyous live shows and slew of heralded releases. Now fifteen years deep into their collective journey, and with some incredible career highlights to note (such as performing to 80,000 people at the opening of the 2012 Olympic Games in London), the 9 piece outfit prepare to announce their 6th full-length offering, the hotly anticipated ‘Collaborations : Volume Two’. Whereas their fifth album ‘Collaborations: Volume One featured a range of World Music legends including Grammy-winning Beninese vocalist Angélique Kidjo and godfather of Ethiopian jazz Mulatu Astatke, ‘Volume Two’ sees HCB focus on songs and singers, alongside a sprinkling of instrumentals featuring harp, guitar, cello, and even conch shells. As anyone who has attempted any degree of social organisation will attest, it is no mean feat to gather nine people in one place, at the same time, on a semi-regular basis, never mind taking this group of people all over the world to play instrumental music.

Frog Lord

Since the dawn of time mystics have prophesised the coming of an ancient amphibian, bestowed with deathray vision and ectoplasmic slime. Emerging from deep within the mystic swamps of Bristol (UK), Froglord arise bringing their powerful blend of sludgy grooves and psychedelic doom. With face melting fuzz and foot stomping riffs, Froglord’s reign of amphibious terror has begun. Returning with brand new masks, costumes, and a 6th studio album, Froglord deliver another massive offering of amphibious swamp doom. Recorded live in the studio in a single take, Lower & Slower briefly pauses the band’s concept storytelling of the Tale of The Froglord saga, instead revisiting six previously released tracks from across their discography. Presenting alternate versions of each track, the band downtunes even lower, playing each at funeral marching speeds. The result; the heaviest fuzz-drenched doom, the band has ever produced. Like a black hole at the centre of the swamp, this album is a nod to bands like Conan, Monolord, and Weedeater. As well as covering several of their biggest swamp anthems, including They Came From Saturn and Green Inferno, the record concludes with a colossal cover of Sabbath’s Iron Man.

Hard rocking songsmiths, TYKETTO, enter 2026 with the release of their 6th studio album, Closer To The Sun, through Silver Lining Music on March 20th 2026, and with it, unleash some of their best, supremely crafted rock anthems celebrating the return of this criminally underrated quintet originally founded in New York. The first video and single taken from Closer To The Sun, ‘Higher Than High’ is a burst of swing and swagger that perfectly captures Tyketto’s deep appreciation for the emancipation that music can bring. That spirit rings out unmistakably as vocalist and founding member Danny Vaughn roars: “In the space you can learn to heal/There is music that helps you feel/Higher than high”.
