Captures / Immersive Live Performance

Captures by Echoes of Archs – Owelle x Structurals Captures is a journey through LiDAR-scanned architecture, generative worlds, and field-recorded soundscapes. These materials form shifting environments built from pointclouds and recomposed structures, where scales stretch and collapse. Within this landscape, sound and image begin to influence each other, controlled in real time. Textures, movements, and sonic details respond and reshape one another, altering the perception of environment and the relationships between objects, spaces, and their imagined extensions. Echoes of Archs is a Geneva-born collaboration between electronic producer Owelle and the visual arts duo Structurals. Together, they fuse immersive sound design with geometric, architecture-inspired visuals, creating performances that feel both spatial and sensory. Their work blends atmospheric electronic rhythms with dynamic digital structures, shaping a unified experience where audio and visual elements echo through imagined architectural spaces. This event is not just any club night; it’s an immersive experience where DJ Yoda blasts back to the 1980s with a high energy live video mix set, cutting and flipping classic retro anthems in true How To Cut & Paste: 80s Edition style. A rapid-fire throwback for old-school heads, new-wave fans, and anyone ready for pure neon nostalgia. DJ Yoda is a multi-award-winning hip-hop DJ and producer, headlining festivals and clubs around the world. No typical club DJ, his interests lie in finding fresh and unique ways to bring turntables out of the club and getting involved in bespoke collaborations. Working with classical composers to neuroscientists; brass bands to film directors; Dr Dre to Dame Evelyn Glennie; Banksy to Mark Ronson; BBC Radio 4 to the BFI, he reinvigorates his craft with wry invention and humorous intent. Slowly Rolling Camera featuring Donny McCaslin Live performance following a Q&A with Dave Stapleton An evening with Slowly Rolling Camera featuring internationally acclaimed saxophonist Donny McCaslin, built around music, conversation and the story behind his celebrated album Lullaby for the Lost. The event opens with an in-depth Q&A between Donny McCaslin and Edition Records founder Dave Stapleton, exploring the writing and recording of Lullaby for the Lost, McCaslin’s powerful 2025 album shaped by rock energy, improvisation and studio experimentation. Widely recognised for his pivotal role on David Bowie’s Blackstar, McCaslin will reflect on the creative process behind the record, the chemistry of his long-standing band, and the sonic world crafted with producer Tim Lefebvre and mixer Dave Fridmann. Lullaby for the Lost pushes McCaslin’s sound further into a bold, rock-influenced aesthetic where the saxophone carries the intensity of a lead vocal. Drawing inspiration from artists such as Neil Young, Nine Inch Nails and Rage Against the Machine, the album channels raw emotional energy into nine expansive and deeply expressive compositions. Following the conversation, the evening continues with a live performance from Slowly Rolling Camera, joined by McCaslin for a special collaboration on stage blending cinematic atmosphere, electronic rhythm and improvisation, creating an expansive setting for McCaslin’s distinctive saxophone voice.

Mr. Scruff / 360º Potato Disco Get ready for an unforgettable evening as CULTVR hosts Mr. Scruff for its second 360º Potato Disco. Hailing from Manchester, Mr. Scruff is a legendary DJ, producer, cartoonist, and musical adventurer with over three decades behind the decks. Renowned for marathon sets and seamless genre-hopping from soul, funk, and reggae to house, electro, and techno, Mr Scruff crafts vibrant journeys through sound, with every performance uniquely tuned to the space and crowd. A true sound obsessive, he travels with his own mixer, effects units, vinyl stash, a sound engineer, and sometimes even… boiled eggs. For this CULTVR performance, he’s joined by long-time collaborators MC Kwasi and VJ Jim, adding lyrical energy and visual wizardry to the night’s immersive format. Expect dancing, deep cuts, and dynamic projections filling the dome in full audiovisual synergy. We’re opening early for a pre-party in our outdoor garden, featuring Cardiff’s own Pamoja Disco Club, a collective known for heating up dance floors with jazz, boogie, afrobeat, and global grooves and special guest Beavs. Come early, grab a drink, soak up the music.
