Late-Summer House Tour

Join a guided tour of the house and grounds led by members of the Acton family. The house tour includes the conservatory, drawing room, library and justice room on the ground floor, plus the hallway with Jacobean carving on the stairs. Some tours will include the Oak Room bedroom on the first floor, with fine carvings in the 17th-century wall panels and the bed. The walk around the grounds takes in the lawns and woodland paths to the secret Rock Garden.

Autumn House Tour

Acton Scott Hall is a Grade II*-listed Elizabethan Manor House built in brick for Richard Acton (d. 1590). The house is an exceptionally early example of a double pile plan set in the beautiful Shropshire hills with stunning views over Wenlock Edge, made famous by A E Housman’s “A Shropshire Lad”.

Christmas House Tour

Start the festive season with the Acton family’s warm welcome to their Elizabethan Manor House decked with boughs of holly and scented with mulling spices. The house tour includes the conservatory, drawing room, library and justice room on the ground floor, plus the hallway with Jacobean carving on the stairs. Upstairs the tour includes the Oak Room bedroom, with fine carvings in the 17th-century wall panels and the bed, and the newly refurbished Blue Room bedroom, both of which can be booked for overnight stays. For more information on our bedrooms please click here.
