Burn the Floor presents Nikita Kuzmin: Supernova Strictly Come Dancing finalist and fan favourite Nikita Kuzmin takes centre stage in the explosive new dance spectacular Supernova, with very special guest star and World Ten Dance Champion, the fabulous Nadiya Bychkova. Created in collaboration with world-renowned choreographer and BAFTA award recipient Jason Gilkison and presented by international dance sensation Burn the Floor. Supernova is a show fuelled by the firepower of world class performers and creatives from around the world. Expect an evening of electrifying entertainment where artistry meets innovation, and Nikita’s trademark charm, power and charisma shine brighter than ever. Get ready — the Supernova is about to explode! VIP M&G Details: • VIP tickets include a premium seat, a pre-show meet and greet with Nikita to get autographs and a picture with the star, and some exclusive show merchandise to take home.• M&G will take place approx. 2.5 hrs pre show. The Spell Songs Scratch Choir

A Cambridge Folk Festival event in partnership with Folk by the Oak Festival.Lend your voice to the brand-new Spell Songs Scratch Choir!Inspired by the music of Spell Songs and in anticipation of their performance at Cambridge Corn Exchange, we invite you to raise your voices to celebrate nature. We will be learning a beautiful new acappella arrangement of ‘The Lost Words Blessing’ - a deeply moving song now in glorious four-part harmony. We will also be weaving our voices around a new ‘murmuration’ - bringing to life a meaningful mantra from Jackie Morris and Rober Macfarlane’s latest release ‘The Book of Birds’ which inspired Spell Songs’ new album. The Spell Songs Scratch Choir is also invited to sing in a ‘pop-up’ performance at Cambridge Corn Exchange at 7.10pm, just before the Spell Songs concert on Friday 4th September.The workshop and performance will be led by singer and choir leader Ben See. This project is open to all singers. You don’t need to be able to read music or sing a solo, but a little bit of experience singing in a choir or holding harmony parts is recommended. Scores and teaching tracks will be sent round in advance.

Dr John Cooper Clarke with Special Guests

A unique evening of poetry from some of the UK’s finest performers, blending poignant and comedic styles.Opening the night, Toria Garbutt and Mike Garry present A War of the Roses of their poems, including a segment first created for the Remembering Johnny Green event at Cadogan Hall. “Greeny” was The Clash’s legendary road manager and later John Cooper Clarke’s “Gentleman Companion” on tour. This special performance will pay tribute to him with new work debuting here.Brian Bilston and The Catenary Wires close the first half with music from the acclaimed album Sounds Made by Humans, pairing Bilston’s poetry with melodies by Heavenly’s Amelia Fletcher and Rob Pursey, performed live by a full band.After the interval, Jan Brierton joins BAFTA-winning poet Henry Normal, the Bard of Nottingham, for a special double act as they tour the UK and Ireland together.Closing the show is the country’s best-loved live poet, Dr John Cooper Clarke, performing classics including Evidently Chickentown, Beasley Street and I Wanna Be Yours, alongside new material from his forthcoming collection Ave It. This is his only East Anglian show of 2026 and a preview of his record sixth sell-out appearance at the London Palladium.

Katherine Priddy has announced the release of her third album, These Frightening Machines for March 2026 via Cooking Vinyl. The new record follows Priddy’s highly acclaimed debut The Eternal Rocks Beneath and sophomore LP The Pendulum Swing which firmly established her as one of the most exciting artists on the contemporary British music scene. Greeted with critical acclaim in the press, many called it “One of The Albums of the Year”.Priddy has sold out headline tours and supported world class artists with her haunting vocals and distinctive finger-picking guitar style. She recently wrote and released two songs with Poet Laureate Simon Armitage and performed on the legendary BBC Later with Jools Holland TV show.The most sonically varied of her career, the songs on Priddy’s new album span a full spectrum of emotions and explore what it means to keep going when things fall apart, to hold onto connections in a world that sometimes divides, and to figure out where we fit into the machines and systems we find ourselves a part of. With her momentum showing no signs of slowing, the release of These Frightening Machines is set to take her star even higher.

Folk by the Oak presents Spell Songs – In Thin Air Tour

A much-anticipated live performance by folk ‘supergroup’ Spell Songs, the musical evolution of the iconic Lost Words and Lost Spells books by acclaimed author Robert Macfarlane and award-winning artist Jackie Morris, commissioned by Folk by the Oak Festival and featuring the collaborative genius of Karine Polwart, Julie Fowlis, Seckou Keita, Kris Drever, Rachel Newton, Beth Porter and Jim Molyneux.Spell Songs are renowned for enthralling live performances that expertly blend virtuosic kora, electroharp, cello, Indian harmonium and more, gorgeously layered with musical and linguistic influences spanning from Orkney to Senegal. Inspired by Robert and Jackie’s latest work, The Book of Birds, Spell Song’s new studio album In Thin Air is released on 4th September and this uplifting performance will include a wealth of beautiful new songs alongside favourites from The Lost Words Spell Songs (2019) and Spell Songs II, Let The Light In (2021).Spell Songs will be joined on stage by Lost Words artist Jackie Morris conjuring creatures and birds from ink and watercolour, bringing a captivating artistic dimension to the show, and exclusive to Cambridge Corn Exchange, for this performance Jackie will be joined by Robert Macfarlane for a pre-show talk about The Book of Birds.
