Runway Café

The Runway is a not-for-profit church coffee shop in the heart of the Martlesham Heath community and is attached to St Michaels Church. We offer a wide range of drinks, homemade cakes and scones all at a very reasonable price. Along with several groups who meet here each week, please feel free to join us for that quiet coffee or for some company and a chat if you would like, come and meet with your friends and perhaps make some new ones. As often as possible we have a Chaplain on hand should you wish to use them - someone who will take the time to listen to your words, a place that is warm and inviting and everyone is welcome. We know people struggle with finances, and to ensure we are helping our community as much as possible we offer a ‘Coffee of the Wall’ scheme. This means we can serve refreshments to someone who for whatever reason may not have any money on them. Simply ask for a 'Coffee of the wall'.

Friends on Friday

Friends on Friday is a drop-in group that meets on Fridays from 10am – 12pm in St Michael’s Church Hall. There are a wide range of activities available including snooker, table tennis, jigsaws, board games (speed scrabble is usually the most popular!) colouring in and crosswords, or you may just also want to sit and chat. The doors to the Runway Café are open where drinks and cakes etc are available, once you’ve ordered the Runway Team will bring it through your order through for you. At 11.00 there is a pause for a few minutes for a brief ‘thought of the day’. Everyone is welcomed to this very relaxed, informal and friendly group. There is no need to book a place, just come along for fellowship and friendship.

Finding food bills a challenge? Come and fill a carrier bag for £2.00 The Pop Up Shop opens from 11.30 - 12.00pm on the 2nd and 4th Sunday of every month. However we would very warmly invite you to our Church service (which starts at 10am) and /or for tea and coffee after the Church service (normally around 11.15am).
