WELL HUNG HEART live in WALES… Explosive, genre-defying, and unapologetically raw — WHH is returning to the stage for a one-off show in Wales to help celebrate the 12th year of The MWR&BC at The Muse in Brecon. This will be the band’s only scheduled Wales appearance for 2026, making it a rare and unmissable performance. Formed by Greta Valenti and Robin Davey, WHH has carved out a fierce reputation for their incendiary live shows, blending garage rock, blues, punk, and a splash of soul into a sound that’s as rebellious as it is unforgettable. The line-up will feature Valenti and Davey alongside original drummer Phil Wilson and more special guests tba, delivering a high-voltage set packed with fuzzed-out riffs, primal vocals, and unapologetic attitude. From the U.S. West Coast to stages across the UK and Europe, WHH’s live shows are equal parts sonic assault and immersive performance art. Brecon Jazz Festival is thrilled to be welcoming back Jack Mac after their high energy performance at last year's Festival Spring Taster day. This time he is in great company with his Funk Pack! The Funk Pack is a collective of some of the strongest musicians from the Cardiff and Bristol area. From soulful melodies to grooving rhythms, the Funk Pack has it all and will get the crowd dancing. Brecon Jazz Festival Talulah

A late addition to the Brecon Jazz Festival lineup for 2026 Talulah returns after a fantastic debut performance last year where she drew in an appreciative, youthful and new jazz audience as well as impressing festival regulars. From North Wales, Talulah creates bilingual blends of acoustic and electronic textures, shaped by soul and jazz influences. Her debut EP ‘Solas’ explores identity and minority language revival, introducing a voice rooted in Welsh language culture yet unmistakably future-facing. Hot Club Gallois are a dynamic 4-piece gypsy-jazz band based in South Wales playing the hottest picks of the Swing Era. Their irresistible mix of fiery violin, lyrical vocals, virtuosic guitar and stomping bass has thrilled crowds around the British Isles. There set contains Django Reinhardt classics, Swing flavoured jazz standards and some Hot Club Gallois originals. Her fledgling career to date has included several TV and radio credits including the BBC, ITV and S4C. She's performed in some great venues like the 02 in London and the Royal Albert Hall, and plays regularly in a number of musical styles from classical to disco. Although Xenia grew up with the violin she didn't study at music college, believing the pressure of earning a living from music would take away the joy of playing. In 2013 in a kind of pre-mid-life crisis she resigned from a lucrative finance job and escaped to South America for 6 months where she realised that music was too important not to be the focus of her life.

Brecon Jazz Festival Jack Pearce Quintet

Described as “A band about to make its mark on UK Jazz”, The Jack Pearce Quintet showcases Jack’s original compositions that pay homage to jazz traditions while injecting a fresh, inventive spirit. A band of Leeds Conservatoire Alumni, the Jack Pearce Quintet focuses on a fusion of melodic and technical excellence. Experienced thanks to Brecon Jazz Club here at The Muse back in November 2025, the festival is thrilled to have these musicians bringing their fantastic energy and sound back to Brecon! Drawing influence from Post-bop and 90s world fusion, the original compositions have a uniquely open and interactive approach. The bands strength is particularly apparent in a live setting where countless hours have been dedicated to every facet of the music, then refined on the stage, culminating in an exciting musical experience. Strong rhythms underpin vibrant, playful melodies creating a fusion complimentary to both traditional and modern jazz. Brecon Jazz Festival Fabulous Red Diesel

Having played Brecon Jazz Festival to a delighted audience in 2024, Fabulous Red Diesel return to sweep you off your feet. Kat Lee-Ryan belts out raw soul with Bush/Mitchel-esque lyrics over the grooviest arrangements of original funk, latin, soul ,gypsy punk and swing. There are trumpets, a flute and even a tuba when one is required. You come away from a gig feeling like you have met friends, the vibe is so infectious. Aidan Thorne and Jason Ball: Poems of a Space CAM35 with guest support from Toby Hay

With the support of Noson Allan we are thrilled to be hosting this show: Poems of a Space. This is the second album from the guitarist Jason Ball and bassist Aidan Thorne. All of the compositions on this album were written, arranged, recorded and mixed by the duo. The concept of the album was to invoke nostalgia, rekindle a memory of a time and/or place. The pieces are engulfed in a fog of guitar ambience and measured 6 string bass textures. As with their previous release, Archwilio’r Traddodiad | Exploring the Tradition there is an emphasis on experiences within the Welsh landscape. The song Banc Y Celyn, refers to the hill overlooking Aidans home in Powys. And the track Clouds, was written after a hike up the Sugar Loaf near Abergavenny. Deeply rooted in jazz, the style carefully glides between written and improvised elements. Some of the compositions were realised and refined from recordings of loose jam sessions. One may hear nods to influences from 70’s ECM records such as Terje Rypdall or Bill Frizell. “…….
