Band of the Royal Regiment of Scotland

Returning by popular demand, the Band of the Royal Regiment of Scotland has once again agreed to perform on behalf of the Scottish Fire Brigades Heritage Trust. The Army’s State Band in Scotland is normally found leading ceremonial events in Edinburgh, Balmoral and Windsor Castles, in addition to Buckingham Palace. Having performed in Australia and New Zealand earlier this year, the Band will be coming straight from their performances at the Royal Edinburgh Military Tattoo. This charity concert will feature a wide range of musical styles providing a spectacular evening of musical entertainment for all the family. All proceeds from this concert will go to the Scottish Fire Brigades Heritage Trust and the Army Benevolent Fund the Soldiers Charity.

An Audience with Lord Ian Botham

Lord Ian Botham, the former England captain, was one of the most impactful all-rounders of his generation with 14 centuries and 383 wickets in a career that spanned over 15 years. Through the 1980s, he was part of a golden generation of all-rounders in world cricket. The 1981 Ashes, which England won 3-1, have since come to be known as Botham’s Ashes for his starring performances with bat and ball. In 2007, Botham was knighted for his services to cricket and to charity. Prolific with both bat and ball, Ian Botham was the fastest to the double of 1000 runs and 100 wickets. He broke the World Record for most Test wickets, and finished his career with 5,200 runs and 383 wickets. Join Lord Ian, as he discusses his amazing career, and everything in between. Inspired by a 1954 study that introduced the groundbreaking theory of human behaviour now known as cognitive dissonance, When Prophecy Fails reimagines the events surrounding history’s first UFO doomsday cult. Convinced the apocalypse is imminent, the group prepare for salvation by flying saucer. When reality collides with belief, they are forced into a profound psychological crisis, exposing what happens when faith begins to fracture. Following their Fringe First-winning The Afflicted (2019) and Imaginate commission The Hope River Girls (2022), and presented as part of the Edinburgh International Festival, Groupwork bring their signature blend of explosive physicality and striking visual storytelling to this thrilling exploration of belief, devotion and disillusionment - where UFOs meet the chaotic power of faith.
