Friday 31 July 2026 Join the Hello Dorking team for a Dinosaur Crafty Caper at Pippbrook House and have a roarsome time! The sessions are free but pre-booking is essential. Please choose from an hour slot and join us for some crafty fun. The activities are most suitable for ages 2 - 11 and all children must be accompanied by a responsible adult. There will be a pop-up cafe inside Pippbrook House so you can enjoy a coffee, drink or snack as your children craft. We offer these sessions for free to encourage families to enjoy their town centre. Please do support the local businesses where you can. For example: If you are attending as 1 adult with 2 children book: 1x Child age 2+ & Accompanying Adult ticket and 1x additional Child age 2+ ticket. If you are attending as 1 adult and 1 child book: 1x Child age 2+ & Accompanying Adult ticket If you are attending as 2 adults and 1 child book: 1x Child age 2+ & Accompanying Adult ticket as this will cover both adults. If you are attending as 2 adults and 2 children book: 2x Child age 2+ & Accompanying Adult ticket These sessions will sell out so if you are unable to attend PLEASE do let the box office know so your tickets can be released to another family.

This exciting workshop is designed for young performers who want to explore their creativity, grow their skills, and have a blast doing it. Step into the spotlight this summer with an unforgettable performing arts experience led by West End stars, seasoned performers and passionate educators as Keith and Lizzie bring their years of industry experience to the stage. Their hands-on, inspiring approach makes this more than a workshop-it’s a summer experience you’ll never forget. Whether you’re a beginner or have stage experience, our supportive and high-energy environment will help you build confidence and develop your craft in singing, acting, and dance. Pippbrook House in Dorking is a Grade II* listed Victorian mansion, designed by Sir George Gilbert Scott. Built in 1856 and rich in architectural detail, the house has lived many lives - from private residence and museum to council headquarters and town library. Now, following recent restoration work, visitors have a unique opportunity to step inside and witness its revival. Guests can explore Pippbrook House’s ground floor interiors, admire intricate wood carvings and decorative plasterwork, and learn about the building’s layered past. Using newly researched material, a brand-new exhibition will reveal the colourful everyday histories of the inhabitants, both upstairs and downstairs. It will shed light on the industries and stories of the surrounding streets, which grew up to serve the local estates and their wealthy owners. The Deepdene - A Landscape Rediscovered

Tickets will become available Wednesday 1 July, 10am Alexander Bagnall, Secretary of the Mausoleum and Monuments Trust and project manager of the Deepdene Trail project, gives an overview of the highly important historic Deepdene estate and its subsequent uncovering. The Deepdene estate has a remarkable story of national significance and its garden can lay claim to being a place where art and nature were shaped by one of the country's great taste-makers, Thomas Hope. Its early demise during the last decades of the 19th Century and the beginning of the 20th Century has been little understood until now. This talk, to coincide with the 10 year anniversary of the opening of The Deepdene Trail, will shed light on this enigmatic estate outlining the rise and fall and subsequent uncovering and reopening to the public in 2016. There will be an opportunity to purchase a copy of the publication: 'The Deepdene: A landscape rediscovered' at the event. HOD 2026: Keymer Handmade Clay Roof Tiles & Wienerberger Factory

Wienerberger’s Ewhurst factory is one of the largest brick manufacturing sites in the South East of England. The site opened in the 1920s and has an overall site area in excess of 350 acres including large areas of historic woodland and farmland, which help to screen the quarry and factory operations. The factory uses Weald clay from the extensive reserves in the adjacent Smokejacks clay pit. This quarry site is designated as a site of special scientific interest for its geological characteristics and was the source of two of the most significant finds of dinosaur remains in the UK. The site was previously recognised as 'Ockley Works', home of the famous Double Diamond brick, from the 1920s right through to 2004, when Wienerberger Ltd acquired ownership of the site from its previous owners 'the brick business Ltd’, with the newest factory on site having been built in 1999. Our factory is split into two areas. The main factory makes Wienerberger Bricks, and at the back of the factory, we hand make Keymer clay tiles. We have been making Keymer tiles using the same methods for over 400 years. As well as the opportunity to make your own Keymer tile, you will see bricks being both handmade and machine-made. In the visitor centre there will be people on hand to show you around and tea, coffee and biscuits will be provided free of charge. Both adults and children will be welcome to come along and look around.
