Wiltshire, England

From craft workshops the kids won't stop asking about to quiz nights that'll test your knowledge of Wiltshire trivia (yes, really) — Norton Bavant has it sorted. Coffee mornings, farmers' markets, film screenings, book clubs, open mic nights, toddler groups, and the occasional village fête that runs like clockwork. All the events that happen in village halls and community centres and local venues that the big listings sites don't bother with. We check the parish council pages, the library noticeboards, the venue websites buried three clicks deep. If it's happening locally and it's worth knowing about, it's here.

Richard Lennox & Friends

For anyone who likes their classics with a generous splash of fizz, this concert promises an irresistible evening of virtuosity, warmth and musical sparkle. Richard is a remarkable classical-crossover pianist and consummate showman, celebrated for his dynamic stage presence and infectious energy. His repertoire roams effortlessly across the musical landscape — from the elegance and intellectual brilliance of Bach to the irresistible melodies of The Beatles, Musical Theatre favourites and the driving rhythms of Rock ’n’ Roll. Whether delivering delicacy or drama, Richard brings flair, personality and a genuine connection with his audience. His impressive career highlights include performances in the West End production of ‘Wicked’, the annual Prom Praise event at the Royal Albert Hall, and appearances on BBC Songs of Praise. Joining him on stage are two outstanding young professional musicians who are already well known and warmly appreciated by local audiences. Tenor Carl Daniels, whose specialism lies in musical theatre, brings a voice of clarity, warmth and expressive power. Mezzo-soprano and actor-musician Joely Hudson adds colour, style and soul, performing alongside her much-loved saxophone. At the heart of the evening, however, is a very special star: the piano itself. In 1970, local music lover Alan Shepherd led a fundraising effort to purchase a beautiful Yamaha baby grand piano as a gift to the Athenæum.
