What's on in Scoonieburn

Perth and Kinross, Scotland

No stadium concerts here, just the good local stuff: markets, meetups, and events where you'll probably bump into someone you know. Classic Scoonieburn. Quiz nights, coffee mornings, craft fairs, book clubs, film screenings — the sort of calendar that makes somewhere feel properly local. Village halls with heating that works on a good day. Community centres that smell faintly of old carpet and possibility. Pubs hosting quizzes and open mics and talks about things you didn't know existed. We've found it all and put it in one place, because life's too short to check seventeen different websites every week.

The day will assist us to think about how music, and sound, help created things praise God, and how listening to and making sound can help us to appreciate our place in the wider scheme of God’s creation.  Psalms tell us to ‘sing new songs’. We will have 2 new songs composed by St Andrews’ students.  Charis Yip’s ‘Call of Creation’ is a song that can be sung with a simple accompaniment, in a contemporary praise-song idiom.  Luis Meseguer Mira’s ‘Genesis’ piece uses traditional plainsong and more modern (but not too challenging) harmonies to set words from Genesis 1.
