Silhouettes of Society: A fashion exhibition through the decades

This exhibition celebrates the life of Lady Iliffe through fashion and design. From hosting glamorous society events and parties at Basildon Park to her work with the Red Cross throughout her life. The exhibition is inspired by a Vogue article published in July 1966 titled 'Lord and Lady Iliffe's triple entente', featuring Lady Iliffe herself. The exhibition features pieces ranging from Lady Iliffes wedding in 1938 through to the 1980's. There are elements of Lord Iliffe's life and style through tailoring and key pieces on loan. Some of the pieces are from the Basildon Park collection and others have been kindly loaned by the London Fashion and Textiles museum alongside Killerton, National Trust based in Devon.

Reuben Goldmark Trio

Doors 7:45 PM, Music 8:30 PM - 2 sets of music Line-up: Reuben Goldmark - Piano Freddie Jensen - Double bass Jonah Evans - Drum kit About: Reuben Goldmark returns to the Vortex with his trio to premiere a brand new set of original compositions. Over the past four years, the band has developed a unique approach to the classic piano trio format. Lyrical melodies and hooks playfully dance over high-tech beats and grooves that seem to have a life of their own — constantly in flux and transforming at will. Their sound is compact and focused, with the leader’s unmistakable piano touch in the foreground. United as a single entity, they navigate intricate polyrhythms and metric modulations with such ease that the complexity fades into the periphery, revealing music filled with emotion and rooted in joy. Reuben was a finalist in the esteemed BBC Young Jazz Musician of the Year competition and his compositions were featured on BBC 4 and BBC Radio 3. He was awarded the Dankworth Prize for Jazz Composition in both 2022 and 2023, making him the first ever back-to-back recipient of the award. As a performer, he has graced numerous prestigious venues across the UK, including select appearances at the Queen Elizabeth Hall as part of the EFG London Jazz Festival, Snape Maltings as part of the Aldeburgh Festival and Saffron Hall. Reuben is a Worshipful Company of Musicians’ Young Artist. He recorded his debut album in April 2025.
