Discover Downham's April Talk - "Bedrooms, Banquets and Balls"

An amusing and off-beat look at the English Country House, taking in their architecture, their fashions and their furnishings, and the many ways in which the rooms were repurposed over the years. The talk also looks at the even more eccentric owners of these properties, how their individual tastes shaped the design of the house transforming them into the delights we see today. The plights of exploding cakes, tight mattresses and even exotic Princes will all be revealed in this talk by John Vigar. Everyone is welcome – no booking is required. £5 entry or £4 if you are a DMDHS Member Tea and Coffee available afterwards at the centre. All Welcome!
